Hello,
I have a PHOTOSMART Wireless B109n-z multifunction printer model Q844B.
No driver installed.
I have tried various actions without success.
Driver search, printer diagnostic tools, uninstallation, reinstallations, updates, etc... I haven't succeeded.
I checked under the properties of my laptop, in the hardware function for the printer, and I see a yellow exclamation point icon.
One line informs me of the problem below
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
I need help, thank you very much.

Which operating system is your computer running? (Windows 7? XP? Ubuntu?) Do you have the installation disc?
-
Re.
On Windows 7, I have the disk but it still doesn't work.
I checked the printer's properties - hardware - the device status says it is working properly.
Right-click on the computer icon - properties - hardware in device functions for the printer - the device drivers are not installed (code 28) -
Attention! I'm talking about the printer installation disc...
Here’s how to do it: Turn off your printer. When your Windows 7 is running, insert the printer installation disc (the disc was supplied with the printer). A window will pop up asking if you want to install the printer... of course, you accept, and then you follow the instructions. -
Re,
First of all, I would like to thank you for taking care of my problem.
I understand that it's about the HP printer CD, I have done it many times with no results.
With USB and the WIFI method
I will try again… -
Good luck...
Above all, you must not turn on the printer before being told to do so in the disk. -
Should I uninstall everything?
I just did it and a message tells me that I already have a device that I just need to connect to. -
Yes, everything needs to be reinstalled.
I didn't quite understand your device problem. Normally, the installer should ask you if you want to install with the internet... you answer no, and then it should ask you (once it has installed everything) to connect the printer. -
When I put the HP CD in, a window appears indicating that a new version of this software is already installed on my computer.
I just need to connect the device to the computer and the software will recognize it automatically.
The problem is that every time it reaches the end of the operation.
Driver issue not installed, it can't be found.
That's why I was asking if I need to uninstall everything to follow your advice because indeed I always had the printer on except this last time.
Thank you, -
Indeed, it's better to delete the installation and start over, as there seems to be something that has installed incorrectly...

Good evening loulou4477,
When deciding to reinstall a printer, this applies to all brands and models, all traces of previous installations must be removed from the PC, it's imperative, otherwise there is a risk of conflict.
You are already doing what is mentioned above, you disconnect the printer from the PC and restart the computer, then, without using the installation CD, download, save, and install the following software/drivers suite PS_AIO_07_B110_USW_Full_Win_WW_140_126-4.exe.
You will connect the printer to the computer when the installation procedure specifies it, not before.
Best regards.

Well! I uninstalled the printer.
With the CD, I reinstalled the software, result:
the installation of the software for your HP PHOTOSMART WIRELESS B109n-z
is complete, but your device is not connected.
This has been the case since I moved into a new apartment and changed my Livebox (7 months ago)
I didn't have any problems before, everything was working fine.
It's a driver issue that I can't resolve.
Thank you.... -
According to what you're saying, I gather that your printer is properly installed if it's working when you connect it with the USB cable. However, it is not set up to work via Wi-Fi...
I assume that during the installation with the disk, you made a mistake at the time of the prompt:
- USB connection
- Wi-Fi connection
and you probably continued to set it up via Wi-Fi without providing the box code... hence the response from your computer when you plug in the printer...
Finally, that's just my assumption!
Here's what I recommend you do:
Start the installation again, making sure to check carefully:
- No assistance or internet search.
- Connect via USB only
Then when the installation is finished and it asks you to connect, turn it on and plug in the USB cable... -
Hello,
Response for glg29
I followed your advice by installing my printer with the link below.
http://whp-aus2.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL33100/cj-82266-2/PS_AIO_07_B110_USW_Full_Win_WW_140_126-4.exe
It didn't work, whether with the "USB key or via WIFI", the printer didn't show up.
I have a B109 n-z printer and not a B110.
I can't find a driver for my printer.
That's it,
Regards, -
Hi,
I applied correctly but at one point I'm asked if there's a certain inscription for the wifi at the bottom right of my printer "I can't remember which one as I didn't note it down" so I can continue the installation. A drawing of the printer shows how to do it, except that my printer doesn't have this option, it's not a B110, so I can't continue.
I've noticed I have a problem with the PnP device and I believe it all comes from there.
See you!-
What is the PNP device, is it found in the device manager, do you have a yellow alert /!\ on the line?
I’m sending you this link so you can perform some analyses, click http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02287615&tmp_task=setupCategory&cc=fr&dlc=fr&lc=fr&product=3794625#N1019 please, and on the + at the Windows 7 line.

I think Loulou means the VPN peripheral... (it's an encrypted routing matching site to site) but now we're entering the professional domain...
Loulou, when you're asked for a code, you need to provide the long code that's written on your box, which consists of a series of letters and numbers and is usually preceded by this:
WPA PSK: (and then the series of letters and numbers)
(If at the end of this long code, there are the letters: PSK, you should not include them in the code) -
Have you tried getting it to work by plugging in the USB cable?
