Hello,

I have a white background on my PC and therefore I can no longer see the text under my icons, which is also written in white. Can you tell me how to change it to black, please? On my mobile, the text is black, so there must be a way to do this, but I can't figure it out on my desktop PC.
Thank you in advance

Configuration: LENOVO - IDEAPAD Z500 - WIN 8.1

No, it doesn’t work! I don’t see anything that allows me to change the text color, or I just can’t find it??

Maybe, but you can change your wallpaper
Otherwise, you can modify your fonts (let's call a spade a spade)
Start menu, copy/paste Window colors
choose: Change window colors and dimensions
From there you can modify:
- The font you want to have (letter shape)
- Their size
- Their color
you confirm with: Apply, then ok to close the window

But if I may say so, this change is more resource-intensive for your system. That's why, I initially advised you to simply change your wallpaper.
If you have a good machine with plenty of DDR3 RAM, no problem

No, I do not want to change my wallpaper which is actually the logo of my job... and it is on a white background (photo of my business card). But it's very strange, the day before yesterday, as if by miracle, when I turned on the PC, all the icons had their text underneath (white shadowed in black) and yesterday, nothing, again, it was in white so unreadable. I don't understand anything. The PC is an ASUS (large touchscreen)
Thank you if you have any other leads.

Look into what Windows calls "Aero," which are actually the transparency effects and all that. (I'm not getting used to the Windows 8 interface and I stick to seven, like an old grouch). On a PC used for office work, this can be quite a heavy load.
However, if I don't express surprise, I was actually surprised by how easily I got into the settings (ClearType or something like that) when I thought I was taking the plunge.
But that goes back to the Greek calanques, I don't remember the way, nor if it included visibility on the desktop.
(You can also check by right-clicking on it and going to the accessibility options)
After that, I don't see what else to do at the moment.

Thank you; as far as I'm concerned, I'm still using Windows XP and the difficulty persists!
