Hello,
Hello everyone! I'm new here, I've searched everywhere on the forum but I can't find anything that seems related to my problem, which is as follows:
I have a recurring wifi connection issue with my Asus laptop running Windows 8.
Several times since I bought it (less than a year ago, the computer works perfectly apart from this), the wifi network at my home has disappeared from the list of nearby networks, making it impossible for me to connect to the internet.
I should clarify that each time this happens, my smartphone is connected to the network and works perfectly well, as do my roommates' computers, both PC and Mac, so the problem really lies with my computer and not with Free.
Each time this has happened, I've tried all the tricks and tips found here and there on the web: turning the computer off and on, rebooting the router, removing the laptop battery before turning it back on, unplugging and plugging all the cables of the router back in, deleting the saved wifi network from the laptop, disabling and then re-enabling the network adapter, checking that the driver is up to date... And this over and over again for sometimes hours until the network finally reappears in my list, as if by magic, without me knowing exactly what went wrong or what fixed the issue.
I have this problem again right now, since last night, and this time nothing is working, I don’t know what to do, it’s impossible to understand.
Has anyone else had the same issue? Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello
If you've really tried everything, it seems to me that your wireless network card is defective.
You said you've had this problem since you bought it, nearly a year ago. I think the card has a manufacturing defect.
Is it still under warranty?

Hello, it sometimes happens that Windows 8 indicates that the Wi-Fi drivers are up to date when they are not, especially if you have upgraded to Windows 8.1. In this case, connect to the network using an Ethernet cable, then perform the optional updates through Windows Update. Once that's done, check if it works again.

Thank you for your ideas, but I'm still at the same point.
Maybe the card has a defect... But it detects ALL other wifi networks! So it's working, right?
Otherwise, I tried to do the updates via a cable, but it doesn't change anything. I can't stay connected only by cable because of the layout of my apartment.
What should I do? Any other suggestions? -
A silly question, is the Wi-Fi properly enabled in the Freebox configuration https://subscribe.free.fr/login/?

It's not because it detects networks that it works correctly.
A design flaw can relate to many cases.
For example: it can detect, but doesn't connect, or even connects, but the speed is too low, and even disconnects often, disables and reactivates on its own, etc.
I advise you to change it as long as it is under warranty, otherwise it's up to you to decide.
