Hello,
I am a novice when it comes to networking, meaning I don't know anything about gateways (I get dizzy...) or subnet masks (carnival for me...) etc... And I have two computers connected via two Ethernet cards and a 5-port hub to the Freebox. Before, when I had my 56k modem, I could download from sites like WinMX, but now it's impossible. I was told I need to configure the Freebox as a router, and apparently that is done, but I would really appreciate it if someone could kindly give me a step-by-step guide and also explain how to configure Azureus, which keeps telling me, cheekily, that I have NAT errors on port 6881 that I have supposedly opened in the connection firewall...
I am on Windows XP, with a Duron 1800 on K7TPro2, and my partner has a Packard Bell with an Intel Pentium 4 i850 at 1GHz, also with XP Home Edition. Our computers are equipped with Ethernet cards, and all the phone sockets in the house have been cleared of their potentiometer and fitted with ADSL filters, even though there are no phones plugged into them. The internet connection is working fine; it's just a problem with network configuration for P2P.
Thank you in advance to anyone who will be kind enough to help me.
Best regards.

Hello!
If I understood correctly, you need to configure the Freebox HD for fast transfers with Shareaza!
I only have one PC with XP Pro connected via Ethernet to the Freebox!
If you could tell me how to do it, I would be delighted!
Thanks in advance!

Hello
I also own a Freebox, and for Azureus and WinMX to work, you need to go to the "My Account" section of Free. There, you will have to enter your username and password (provided by Free) https://subscribe.free.fr/login/. Once on your management interface, click on Freebox router features ----> Activate Freebox NAT router functions ----> Configure router.
On this page, you need to check if the "enabled" box is checked, then enter the following information and check the "DHCP enabled" box.
In the DHCP start field, indicate an address of the type 192.168.0.x where x is a number between 1 and 252. I recommend setting it to 10, and for the DHCP end, 15, but you can specify what you want.
For the Freeplayer IP, enter your PC's IP manually.
Now let's move on to port forwarding:
For WinMX
16699 TCP 192.168.0.x (your PC's address) 16699
16257 UDP 192.168.0.x (same) 16257
For Azureus
6881 TCP 192.168.0.x 6881
6881 UDP 192.168.0.x 6881
Then click on "submit" at the bottom and restart the Freebox; it should work fine.

Hello, I posted this question back in 2005 and I didn't expect to get a response anymore, so I thank you very warmly for taking the time to look into it... Since then, I have made some progress in understanding my environment. I have partially resolved things for the PP but I hadn't found the ports for winmix, so thank you very much, everything is working now!
Thanks again! -

Hello,
I'm writing to you because I saw that you left a message on the how to work.net forum and since I'm on Vista, I'm still having trouble configuring my wife's PC so that it works well with eMule.
What's strange is that on my PC that also runs on Vista, it works very well. Well, I configured it with the "upnp" system that I checked in its preferences just like I did on mine. And then, I downloaded servers, when I did an update, it only shows me 4 or 5. Anyway, I honestly don't understand anything anymore! To be clearer, we have 2 PCs at home running on Vista. Mine works very well and with my wife's, I can't figure it out!
Thank you for your help and I prefer to discuss this in private or on MSN if you want. My address is: alexistollu@hotmail.com thanks!!

Hello,
I'm glad I could help you. I'm new to the forum, that's why. Don't hesitate to ask if you need more help with the Freebox setup, it will be my pleasure.
Looking forward to it.

Hello, sorry for not replying earlier.
Everything I found about uTorrent is this link: http://www.infos-du-net.com/forum/259086-8-reglage-torrent-freebox
Try to check it out here because I don't use uTorrent
Take care, have a good evening.
