What is the difference between input and pass-thru?

I have a Rockford Fosgate R500-1 amplifier
with a Rockford Fosgate Punch 15" subwoofer P3 dual 4 ohm 600/1200W

but I don't understand the difference between input and pass-thru and also a phase button 180° or 0°

what is the best connection to make??
also on the sub, there are 2 + and 2 - and I only took one + and - closest to the terminal
is this okay?
here are so many questions for an old sound enthusiast for years but who admits to being a little lost

link to the amp

link to the sub

thank you!

Hello
Input = amplifier input
Pass-thru = are jacks (passed through) that allow sending the same signal as that in "Input" to another amplifier
(Click on the image extracted from the manual (page 9) to enlarge it in a new tab)

Phase adjustment
Translation of the manual (page 10) http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/support/rftech.aspx?kbsrc=http://rftech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/rftech.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1046&p_li=&p_topview=1#knowledge
Allows you to easily switch the output phase of the
Amplifier between 0° and 180°. This has the same effect
as physically swapping the positive ( + ) and negative ( - ) terminals of the
speaker wires

For connecting the subwoofer, unless I'm mistaken P3D4 means we have 2 x 4 ohms. According to the manual http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/2011/5_Subwoofers/4020117-0_P3Subs-MAN_Rev3.pdf the wiring on the speaker should look like the image next to it.
The amp requires a minimum of 2 ohms between the + and - terminals, so depending on the wiring done, you need to connect it as shown in the manual on page 9 (2 ohms).
Very hard to catch a black cat 😸 in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
