Hello,

I live in a two-story house and the Wi-Fi network cannot reach my room (second floor), so I bought a new router to install in my room. After installation, both routers refuse to work.

If the first one is off, the second one works, and if the second one is off, the first one works.

Is there a trick to make both routers work in the same house or is it just impossible to have two routers at the same time?

Thank you for replying.

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 37.0.2062.120

Hi,
I don't know who advised you to use 2 routers, but you're complicating things for yourself.
You should have added a Wi-Fi access point instead, that’s the basics.
However, you can run two routers if you take care to configure them properly; it’s not something you can improvise without knowing what you’re doing.
What models do you have and how did you connect everything?
Otherwise, two ADSL routers on the same phone line won’t work; you need to run an Ethernet cable or use powerline adapters to link the two.

And... There you go!
