Hello,
Since I installed the VLC M.Player, I can no longer read the PPs files I receive by email, as they appear as VLC Mpl files
Certainly, there’s the solution of saving the file and then opening it with PowerPoint, but that takes time.
How can I read this original PPS file that has been automatically transformed into a file to be read with VLC Mpl, which cannot read it, while initially it is a PPS file
Thank you in advance for your help if you have a solution.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 31.0

Hello,
Just as you said, you need to select "Open with" => PowerPoint, and then check "Always open with this application" at the bottom. -
Hi =)
For a rather strange reason, it seems that VLC has become your default program for opening PowerPoints... Quite strange =P
To fix this:
- Right-click on a pps file
- Hover over "Open with" and click on "Choose default program" (normally at the bottom if I remember correctly)
- In the window that appears, select PowerPoint
- Make sure the box "Always use the selected program ... blablabla" is checked
- Confirm with OK
Try it and let me know how it goes =)

Hello Sir and thank you for your response.
However, I would like to provide some clarifications:
VLC is not my preferred media player, but rather Windows Media Player. I installed VLC, which is essential for playing and recording TV programs from Zedtv and/or Captvty. What surprises me is that the PPS files received by email are automatically set to open with VLC, which cannot read them.
Therefore, the solution you propose seems to be the best one.
Thank you again.
