Hi everyone,
I want to sell my PS3 that I purchased in December 2010.
In order to prevent the buyer from using my data, I need to reset the PS3 system, but I know that this operation deletes all the data on the hard drive, as well as the games purchased from the store.
So, I wanted to know if it was possible to format the HDD without deleting the downloaded games? Or possibly reinstall them after formatting the drive, but how do I remove all my sensitive data (like the PSN account, credit card number, etc.)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I attempted this operation:
- Restore the PS3 system
- Restart the machine (which was like new, with all the default settings)
- Connect to the account with which I purchased the games
- Reinstall a game
- Disconnect
- Restore default settings
- Restart the machine again
- Connect with another account than the one I purchased the game with
And then, error message: unable to connect with another sign-in ID.
I can hardly sell the PS3 in this state. The buyer could play the games I installed but would never be able to connect to their own account...
Please, help me!
Thank you...

hello, first for:
*Billing information
*Login ID (email address)
*Password
*System language
*Name
*Address
*Avatar
*Profile
*Notification preferences
you log in to the PSN with your ID and password, then go to account management where you can modify or delete your information, after that go to System Activation to deactivate the account associated with the PS3, then format your hard drive: Settings > System Settings > Format Utility choose full formatting. all data will be deleted
later if you buy another PS3 you will be able to download the purchased games again.

Thank you, I will try anyway, but I'm not sure my request has been well understood.
What I want is for the buyer to be able to enjoy the games I have purchased and installed on the hard drive, while being able to log in with their own account ID.
I don't think that's possible. I believe the games are tied to the account and not the machine...
Thank you for your reply anyway
