Question

Hello,  I just retrieved my PC from the service center and wanted to reinstall Firefox. That's fine, but every time I launch Firefox, a message pops up asking if I want to launch the Firefox software updater. I know it's not a virus; it's the automatic update, but I refused it during the installation of Firefox because I don't like things running in the background of my PC. Now, every time I start Firefox, the question comes up again, and it's annoying. How can we stop Firefox from asking us this? Because as long as I don't check "yes," I'm going to be harassed with this... thank you in advance.  Configuration: Windows 8 / Internet Explorer 10.0

Hello,  Launch Firefox In the address bar, type --> about:support Click on --> Refresh Firefox  -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst

Good evening,  To move Kaneagle forward (whom I greet in passing):  During the reset, bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, cookies, and auto-filled information from web forms will be retained. However, extensions and themes will be removed, open windows and tabs as well as tab groups will not be preserved, and preferences will be reset. I have installed quite a few modules with scripts like Greasemonkey, and I’m annoyed to have to reinstall them because I’m afraid I might do it wrong (someone helped me before). I also want to understand why Firefox sends me this message every time I start it. Will it solve something if I just make sure that Windows doesn’t warn me about this message anymore? You know, in the notification settings...

Re,  After that, I don't see how it bothers you to check the box Use a background service to install updates in your Firefox options. Actually, in the Firefox options, I don't have the item "use a background service" at all, this item doesn't appear, I have the latest Firefox... I'm talking about the small box titled: "user account control" that asks me if I want to launch Firefox software updater, this box appears every time I click on Firefox to launch it and yet when I installed Firefox, I did uncheck this box to refuse it but it keeps persistent.

Thank you M. Gims, so today I tried something: I might have made a blunder but that's how we learn... I think... I saw in the control panel that there was under Mozilla Firefox the update program: I uninstalled it and since then I no longer have the request in question... I don't know if I did the right thing...  I take this opportunity to ask something else... during my manipulations I noticed a small thing on Firefox, as soon as I launch Firefox on the homepage, whatever it is, I saw at the download progress arrow at the top right that every time I launch Firefox this little arrow is overly exposed: it is raised on the screen in the middle of the screen and goes to position itself in the taskbar at the top right, I can't explain it well... you know what I mean? is this process normal or not?

I’ve looked up keywords on Google, but nothing works; I can’t find how to explain my issue. Do you see the downward arrow in the top right corner of Firefox that shows the download progress?  https://www.casimages.com/i/140619063957371070.png.html  Well, this arrow has a movement every time I launch Firefox... I wonder if it's a virus because I had an infected PC some time ago, and it did that, so I'm a bit worried... I just got rid of Omig Plus which I think I got while trying to install Freecorder, and I had a hard time removing it, and I’ve noticed this arrow movement since then.

I’m going to uninstall it then; I took a screenshot of what I had installed on Firefox, particularly scripts to counter certain sites that refuse adblock. By the way, I used the sync function on Firefox, is that a problem?
