Printer fails to start

Under Windows 8.1, Epson Stylus SX215 printer
Open Office shows "Unable to start the printer, check the configuration"
Until today, I had no issues. I replaced the driver with the latest one available and
there's no improvement. Should I uninstall/reinstall the printer? I have the Epson CD.
