Sony Handycam Hi8 won't play cassettes anymore.

Hello
I have an old Sony Handycam camcorder that was working very well, and while I was watching what I recorded, suddenly nothing happened, the tape continues to run fine, I can fast forward and rewind but there's no image to watch, and when I connect it to the TV it's the same, everything works well except there's no image.
I wanted to know if it’s possible to repair it.
Also, the lithium battery CR2025 3 volts hasn't been changed for a long time.
I'm going to buy a new one but I don't think it will have an impact since the battery is just for the information.
If someone has had the same problem or can advise me, I would be so happy because there are hours of 8mm tape that I would like to record with my VCR.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Have a nice day.

Hello, these little things are fragile and I really think it's time to retire your camcorder. I don't want to say "I told you so," but we need to stop using these tools before they break down and save those tapes on your computer now. You can either buy a second-hand Hi8 camcorder plus a Dazzle transfer box or have your tapes converted by a pro and save the files on a hard drive that you provide.

Well then, according to you, my camcorder won’t work anymore, huh, that’s too bad! No, I don’t want to have my tapes converted by professionals because it’s way too expensive! And for now, I don’t plan on buying another camcorder either, I’m going to look for someone who will lend me their camcorder, thanks idiot.
