Sony camcorder cassette compartment Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I'm posting on this forum because since this morning, for some unknown reason, my SONY DCR-HC37 camcorder has a small issue :s

After opening the tape compartment to remove the tape, I can't close it again :s

Normally, you have to push the right side for the tape slot to automatically retract so that you can close the compartment.

I just hope it's not too serious, but in the meantime, I can't figure out where the problem is coming from :s

I am therefore reaching out to you, hoping you can shed some light on this :)

Hello,

For two days, I haven't been able to remove the cassette from my SONY mini DV DCR-HC47 camcorder, it no longer ejects. Additionally, I can't make recordings because the following message appears: "Reconnect the power supply" even though my battery is full.
I really don't know what to do, please help me if possible.

Same here, I have the same problem as you.

One day, I normally took out the cassette, and now I can't close the compartment!

I should mention that the device hasn't been dropped.

Normally, there's a mechanism that triggers the automatic closing of the case just by pushing on it.
I have the impression that a spring has popped or something like that. To the naked eye, I haven't noticed anything broken or disassembled. I've tried all positions: on the side, on the back, upside down... nothing works, the mechanism is no longer functioning.

My only option will be to send it to a repair shop and pay a hefty price!

I'll keep you posted when I have more information...

Hello,

I had the same problem as you today, and I won't hide the fact that the solution was costly and very technical... actually, the camcorder didn't have enough battery to close the cassette compartment. So we simply recharged it, and oh joy, it works. It's silly, but it can happen. Hopefully, it will work for you too.

Same problem on a Sony HDR-HC7E, I have the following error code: C:32:11
Unable to close the cassette compartment.
I followed the previous instructions without success.
On the Sony documentation, it says to do a complete reset (small reset button).

Has anyone had good results with that?
Any other ideas to solve this problem?

Stuck this week. The device is asking me to eject the cassette (I don't remember why). I open it, take it out, and now I can't put it back. Message: charge battery. Can't do it while it's open... Silly, right?
Saw a repairman... Paying 50 Euros in advance. They probably need to change the tray... About 200 Euros...

Thank you for saving my report today... and the guy from SONY who told me (WITHOUT even looking) that it would cost 200 bucks!

I went online and found this place, fixed the problem in 2 minutes with the video!

I then went back to the SONY SHOP to tell the salesperson that it was repaired and that I would be taking his job this week...

He didn’t like it...

The same problem happens to me when I open it to put in the tape; it starts spinning in place and then the box won't close. When the tape is inside, there's a re-load message and also 32:30. KNOWING THAT I have the SONY HANDYCAM camcorder. Thank you.
