Bonjour,
Je viens d'installer le pilote HPLIP pour mon imprimante hp Photosmart 7260.
le tuto d'installation est très clair et très bien expliqué .....c'est ici :

ATTENTION : il y a pas mal de packages et librairies à installer !
pour les autres distros .......c'est ici :

et le petit lien qui m'a ouvert les yeux sur mes "petits problèmes" de compilation du pilote HPLIP ......c'est ici :

Installation du pilote HPLIP imprimante HP
J'ai installé le pilote HPLIP sur mon imprimante HP Photosmart 7260.
Pour récupérer et installer le pilote, se rendre ici :
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/manual/download.html
Vous en profirerez pour lire soigneusement les instructions (à votre gauche), surtout la partie System Requirements qui liste les packages et autres librairies nécessaires.
Revenir à la page précédente (download) et suivre pas à pas les instructions.
Pour les autres distributions ...c'est ici :

Si vous avez des soucis d'installetion du pilote HPLIP, il y a de fortes chances qu'il vous manque un package ou une librairie. Voici un lien qui m'a permis de résoudre mon problème d'installation :

j'aurai du préciser que l'installation était sur Mandriva 2007.
je me dis, aussi, que j'aurai pu développer un peu plus (surtout pour ceux qui ne lisent pas l'anglais !).
Pour les "anglophones" le tuto est très bien expliqué !
Pour les "anglophobes" .......désolé .....mais j'y ai pensé après !

ok ! j'ai réinstallé HPLIP sur la Mandriva !
en effet HPLIP ne fonctionnait pas bien suite au passage 2007.1 à 2008.1 ! en effet l'interface graphique de hplip m'indiquait des informations aberrantes du type: "périphérique non reconnu" alors que je pouvais tout de même imprimer ! de plus je ne pouvais pas supprimer l'imprimante !
j'ai donc désinstallé tout ce qui concernait hplip (paquet rpm et source tar.gz).
ensuite j'ai récupéré la dernière version HPLIP (hplip-2.8.5.tar.gz) et suivi la documentation d'installation :

maintenant les informations de l'interface graphique de hplip sont correctes !

toujours lié à hplip, un rapport avec python semble-t-il aussi ....

j'essaie d'installer mon HP C7180 sur MANDRIVA 2008.1
j'ai lu votre message ci-dessus, ai suivi pas à pas les instructions.
cela ne fonctionne pas. le problème c'est que je ne comprends rien à linux et ses règles (package, media, cups, commandes sh,su,-f, -l , ...etc !)
que faire ?
