How to block hidden calls on Orange landline

Question

Hello.
We are daily disturbed by blocked calls on our Orange landline.
When I had SFR, it was enough to dial star 82 pound to block hidden numbers, but that doesn't work with Orange, or you have to involve the top secret service for €4 a month.
This suggests that the blocked calls come from them!

There is indeed a simple solution that works very well with my Livebox 2, it’s a small device called CLIBASE Primo that plugs directly into the telephone socket and blocks unwanted calls. The advantage of this little thing is that you can configure it however you want (blocking hidden calls, calls from abroad, calls in the middle of the night...), and since I always had a couple of numbers starting with 01 that called me to say "Goodbye", I was able to ban them. It's a simple thing, but it feels good to know that I've regained control of my phone; I suddenly feel powerful!

Stop Secret: identify hidden calls

The Stop Secret service allows you to identify and filter hidden calls even before the phone rings. When you receive a hidden or anonymous call, the caller must identify themselves verbally for you to decide whether or not to accept the call.
This voice recording is treated as a normal communication, and the caller is charged from that moment on, with no extra fee.

To ensure your loved ones don't have to identify themselves even if they call you from a hidden number, you can save their number in your VIP contacts list.

1You receive a call from a hidden number.
Before your phone rings, the Stop Secret service asks the caller to identify themselves out loud (without revealing their number):
"Hello! Your phone number is hidden. To contact your correspondent, please say your first name followed by your last name. It's your turn!".

At no point will the caller's number be revealed, only the voice recording will be presented to you.

2If the caller identifies themselves: "Hervé DUPOND". They then hear the message:
"Thank you for holding, we are attempting to connect you to your correspondent."

If the caller hangs up before you answer, their identifying voice message is lost. The same applies if you do not answer or if your line is busy.

3Your phone rings: you then hear the message:
"Hello! You are receiving a call from Hervé DUPOND. Do you wish to take the call? To accept this call, say yes or press 1, otherwise hang up. It's your turn!"

Say yes, you hear:
"You are now connected to your correspondent"
The same message is broadcast to your correspondent and you enter into communication.
refuse the call
Say no, you hear:
"OK. I am informing your correspondent that you are unreachable. Goodbye."
The Stop Secret service broadcasts the following message to the caller:
"Sorry! Your correspondent is currently unreachable. Goodbye, see you soon."

If you have voicemail, identified callers will be able to leave a message if you do not answer or if your line is busy.

4If the caller does not identify themselves, your phone does not ring.

Recent landline phones have the ability to block anonymous calls as well as a blacklist. All of this for around forty euros.

Hello,

I have also been harassed for some time and I can't filter calls despite subscribing to and activating "STOP SECRET" and having a Gigaset C620 phone that also allows filtering.
The problem is that the number is unknown to the FT network, making it impossible to present it (CNIL) and thus impossible to filter.
This must be a particular case of the conditions of the number presentation service.

- Non-existence of information relating to the origin of the call
Information regarding calls from abroad or from a third-party operator's network can only be presented
to the client if it is provided by the originating network.
If not, the caller's number is replaced by the indication "unavailable".

Already 14 calls in a week (4 today) with - when I answer - a nice "goodbye" in a female voice.
I will have a hard time going to file a complaint at the gendarmerie with so little usable information.
Do you know what I can do? Can Orange (should they) provide me with means to get rid of this intruder?

Hello,

I am taking the liberty to respond to your issue because we actually sell the product that "dadoubou" mentioned earlier (whom I thank for their positive feedback), the Clibase Primo v3.

From a technical standpoint, what you state is perfectly true.
If the caller’s operator does not send any data regarding the call, Orange or any other telephone operator simply cannot provide them because they do not have them. In the absence of this information, most phones display "unavailable" or a similar message. However, I believe that with legal procedures and support from the relevant authorities, it should be possible to trace back to the caller. However, I think this should only be done in the case of death threats or other serious motivations made via phone, considering the work involved. The worst part is that these nuisance calls are easily made from France...

The first versions (v1 and v2) of our CLIBASE Primo did not handle this type of calls, but the current version, v3, will take care of it for you. When Clibase Primo blocks a call, it's simple; your phone doesn’t ring!
However, I must inform you that for these very specific types of calls, and exclusively for them, Clibase Primo may allow the first ring (~3 seconds) to come through before detecting the nuisance nature of the call and blocking it. But I think in your situation, this won't bother you too much!

regarding the first ringing train, I think it's normal and similar to what my Gigaset does for a blocked call (the signal has to be intercepted at some point).

It's true that the price of the box is much more tempting than a long and uncertain procedure. And if a procedure is needed for each different foreign call...

However, I only found the Primo v1 and it states in the specifications:

Prohibition of calls from foreign or "fake" numbers (advertising calls): If the caller's number is not 10 digits (standard French length), the call is ignored.

Is it this feature that you say is only available in v3?

Hello everyone,
I want to share my experience as a consumer regarding the "Clibase" boxes mentioned earlier, which I've had for three weeks now. After browsing and reading entire pages of forums to find out how to get rid of those annoying calls that don't even speak French and hang up on us, I finally decided to try the Clibase box. Now it's no longer v1, v2, or v3 they have, but v4 (although the messages are quite old). I don't really know what the improvements have been, but this little gadget works like a charm! Basically, I've gone from receiving 5 or 6 unwanted calls a day to only about one every three days. Not bad at all! Well, since I slogged through a ton of forums to finally buy this little box (without really knowing if it would be effective), I'm going to try to spare others from that by giving my opinion in as many discussions as possible, because it's truly a great little device, and it's made in France (given the times we live in, that's rather a good thing!). And then, when you're retired, you might as well keep yourself busy in a useful way..
If anyone wants more info, feel free to ask.
