Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to post a message because I have a small problem with my car's head unit-amplifier-subwoofer setup, so let me explain the issue.

I have a Pioneer DEH-2500UI head unit
an Alpine PMX-F640 amplifier (640w max)
an Alpine Type S12 subwoofer (320w max)

Power: OK (Amp is turned on)
Ground: OK
Remote: OK
RCA: OK
Power: Amp==>Sub OK

I just bought the amplifier above; I previously had another amp, and the setup worked perfectly. However, when installing my new amp (PMX-F640), the subwoofer does not respond; nevertheless, there’s a very slight humming coming from the subwoofer. Even with the gain set to maximum, nothing happens. I went on YouTube to find videos about my amp, and some people have installed it, and everything works perfectly, so I'm quite confused. I hope I was clear enough, and while waiting for your responses, I wish you all a great day.

Have you properly connected your RCA cables to the "in" inputs on the amplifier and the "out" output on the car radio?

    Hi,

Is the amplifier used or new?
Have you tested the subwoofer on the car radio to see if it works?

The amp was bought new 2 days ago and the sub is working; I tested it with a tester and connected it to the system :)

Is the amp connected to the power wiring of the old amp?
Have you checked if the fuse in the fuse holder is not blown? "It needs a 60A one."

The amp turns on, so I assume the fuse hasn’t blown. The fuse check was done before and after installation, and it is fine.

I found the solution, I bought the amp at Feu Vert, I didn't pay attention

the amp is a 4x50w so that's why my sub isn't moving at all!

even in bridged mode, I would have 100w in the sub, MEDIOCRE!!! they will take it back

not at Feu Vert, I just have to throw it away :/

    The Alpine PMX-F640 delivers:
    4x75Watts or 1x300Watts RMS at 2 ohms
    4x45Watts or 1x180Watts RMS at 4 ohms

The amp is more powerful than the subwoofer, it should get it moving!

Test the amp with one or two speakers; if nothing still happens, it's defective, and Feu-vert is required to take it back!!!

On a a speaker glued to the ear, you can hear a slight thumping but not what should normally come out, well I think a 4x50 doesn't send enough to move the car, that's weak, right?

So the amplifier has a big problem, if it's less than 7 days old, Firestone must take it back and refund you, that's the law, beyond 7 days it's an exchange or a repair.
