8 Ohm Amplifier and 4 Ohm Speakers

Hello,

I just acquired a SONY STR-DG520 amplifier that operates at 8 ohms, but I would like to connect my existing 4 ohm PIONEER speakers while I wait to buy new ones.
Is it possible to do this without risking damaging anything?

Thank you for your advice

    Hello,

This should be avoided: speakers must always have an impedance at least equal to that of the amplifier's output.
The opposite, 8-ohm speakers on a 4-ohm output, would have been fine. But as it stands, it's risking damaging the amplifier's outputs.
    So be patient...

      I concur,but it's very relative.

It depends on the bias, etc., etc...

      Hello
If there is bias on an amp output, it means there's a problem!
