Hello everyone, I have an issue with the internet. When I try to open a web page, 3 times out of 5 it says 504 gateway timeout. I refresh the page and wait for a while, but nothing happens; the page just won't load. Please give me some advice. Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Good evening everyone, the only solution to this problem is to wait... while checking if the connection works or not, because when you connect to FreeWifi Public, it's the antennas installed on the rooftops of your area that send you the signals, so this has absolutely nothing to do with your box or your internet history or your PC in general; it may indeed be due to traffic density.
Don't lose patience because this issue can sometimes last up to a week; you just need to refresh your connection to see if Free has resolved the problem or not.
Hoping to have met your expectations.

You just need to delete all your browsing data:
- With Google Chrome, you just have to go to HISTORY, then CLEAR BROWSING DATA, and choose "from the beginning"
Then it will work.

I sometimes encounter this kind of error.
504 Gateway Timeout
This response is similar to code 408 (Request Time-out) except that here, it is a gateway or proxy that is timing out.
408 Request Timeout
The client did not send a complete request within the allotted time and the server therefore cut the connection. The client must restart their request.
But that doesn't help us.

This problem does not have ONE solution because it can be caused by many things (CDR, virus, weak signal, bandwidth occupation, etc.) and therefore have multiple solutions.
For my part, the issue was located in my registry keys.
Clean and repair your registry keys!!
Here’s what worked for me:
1- Clean and delete your internet browser history.
2- Install CCleaner and clean and repair your registry keys, then scan the PC.
3- Install Wise Registry Cleaner and clean and repair your keys (this one finds and fixes registry keys that CCleaner did not catch).
4- A quick scan of the entire system with Malwarebytes (because this could have been the cause).
5- Install Avira (since I had no antivirus) and then scan the PC.
(With each analysis of the keys by CCleaner and Wise Registry Cleaner, many key errors were identified.)
Restart your computer.
And... I have been connected to Hotspot FreeWifi for a week non-stop and it works perfectly.

Hello everyone, I personally tried this solution but with no results. However, I managed to find a solution that got rid of this problem for me for good. It is related to the registry keys. Several cleanups and corrections are necessary to stop the issue.
Too bad, it didn't work for me, the other page still gives me a 504 Gateway Timeout, I'm still looking!
Hi, I'm currently having the same problem with free wifi. I think it's a bug that several people have.

I have a BlackBerry, when I try to access the internet, I receive the following message: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Timeout. What should I do?
Hello
Same problem, for the last 3 or 4 days. I'm afraid it might be intentional restrictions by Free during certain hours.
I used to be able to connect early in the morning, around 4 or 5 a.m. However, for the past 3 or 4 days, that's no longer possible, and it only comes back around 7 a.m.
Again today

Hi! :)
The problem can be resolved; you just need to wait until the morning around 11 AM to connect :) That's when few people connect. I hope this information will be useful to you!
