Hello,
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to wish a Happy New Year to the whole team and to those who might help me.
I need someone who is really good at math to assist me, as I must clarify that I don't understand anything and I need to solve a problem urgently.
I need to calculate in "man-days" the time that certain people in my company spend performing a specific task:
Here are the data and my questions:
- one working day in this company = 7h39 = 1 "man-day"
- some people told me that it takes them 35 minutes to complete this, others counted this time and specified 0.20 "man-days,"
- I don't know how to proceed to calculate in hours and days.
A friend tried to help me, she jotted down some information but I don't understand anything, here is what she wrote, if it can help you:
- 7h39 minutes = 7.65h = 1 "man-day"
- 7.65/5 = 1.53h = 1h32 = 0.20 "man-day"
Can you please clarify for me how I should calculate "step by step" with simple terms because I'm really struggling with numbers: in other words:
- how to calculate in "man-days" when a person specifies this time in minutes (e.g., I take 1h30 to do this task or I take 45 mins)
- how to calculate in hours or minutes when a person specifies this time in "man-days" (e.g., I take 0.20 man-days to do this task)
knowing that the daily working duration is 7h39.
In advance, I thank infinitely those who can help me with simple terms to calculate and especially without spending the night on it.
A thousand thanks because it's urgent.
Best regards to all

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 9.0

Good evening,

Another method, if we want... The calculations remain the same.

An example file of how you could do it:
- 2 input columns, one for entering in "man-days", one for entering in h:mm
- 2 result columns to convert to man-days and h:mm. If you only need one, you can hide the other.

Check if it aligns well with the expected results.

eric

PS: In the result columns, these are formulas to drag down.

In addition to the thank you (yes, it is customary!!!), remember to mark as resolved when applicable (at the top towards your title).
Thank you

I modified the file a little while before you wrote.
Not sure you have the latest version.
Don't forget to mark it as resolved when you have checked.
