How to calculate work hours in Excel?

You must write your time in the cell, and to calculate from the top, in FX do =click on the cell you want to count - the other cell "enter" e.g. ( =B1-A1)
08:00(A1) 16:30(B1) 08:30(C1)
08:15 16:00 07:45(C2)
08:45 15:00 06:15(C3)
total 22:30(C4)
add all the cells to get the total e.g. ( =C1+C2+C3)

Hello, in accounting, hours are calculated as follows:
0.25 = a quarter of an hour
0.50 = half an hour
0.75 = three-quarters of an hour
1.00 = one hour
so
46h50 = 46h30

I propose something simpler... :

For those who have trouble with computers and Excel, we will default to a table where the start time will be in cell [C6] & the end time will be in [D6]

So we want the result in the third cell to their right: [E6]

E6 ==> ~~=SUM(24-(C6-D6))~~

Of course, to do this properly, you will simply need to select ALL the cells where your hours are noted and the cells for your results (to avoid selecting them one by one, which can take some time ;) )

Once the selection is made, right click ==> cell format ==> [category] Time ==> then choose the option "13:30"

And there you go, just note your hours, not forgetting of course to include your ":" between the hour and the minutes even if it's [20 : 00]

As DUDU said, in accounting we calculate in decimal,

assuming that in C5 you want to enter a time value, for example for 4 h 15 you enter 4.15 and in another cell you enter the formula below which will convert 4.15 into 4.25 and this is the value you should multiply by $18 or another value

=((C5-TRUNC(C5))/60*100)+TRUNC(C5)
