Hello everyone,
So here it is, a few days ago, I bought the Alpha version of the game DayZ on Steam, a realistic survival game that I strongly recommend :). I of course checked the minimum configuration required to run it, okay, and it runs, but not great ....
The game is not smooth at all, I have set everything to very low quality, disabled quite a few things like Vsync etc. But nothing helps, I LAG... Especially in the big cities where the scenery is important.
However, when I'm playing, I feel like my PC isn't working hard (I have an Asus portable K53S, Intel Core I5, 2.5 GHz, with a GeForce 610M graphics card ....).
For example: When I play Battlefield 3 online which is quite demanding, not as much as DayZ certainly, but still, my PC runs smoothly and gets pretty hot. Whereas on DayZ, nothing ... I feel like I'm just browsing the Internet ...
SO, all this to ask: is there any configuration I can apply to run it properly? Like in the 3D settings of my graphics card or something, I don’t know...
Thanks in advance :)

Yes, it runs much better.
In "Manage 3D settings"
Then "Program Settings"
I selected the DayZ.exe program and reconfigured it to high performance.
So I lag more, but I'm still on low quality and my PC isn't running any better. However, I can't complain; the game runs fine on low quality. -
I’m going to be blunt: your machine is NOT made to run this game properly.
Real gamers are on desktops, not on laptops.
But maybe wait for another contributor from CCM to chime in...
you might get another opinion.

Yeah, that's the main thing! After that, if you want better quality, you'll need another PC.
