Hello,
I found an old laptop and it has a black screen when I turn it on, with the same message repeating:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
What can I do to get it to start normally?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello
you may have solved your problem, but just in case, when starting the computer, try pressing the F10 key (for ACER computers). This will only work if the factory partition saved on another partition has not been deleted or modified.
Then follow the instructions. -
Hello
When starting the computer, repeatedly press F8 to access the boot menu to then start from the hard drive, or alternatively access the BIOS and select the hard drive as the first option.
If the problem persists, if possible install another hard drive in place of the current one and if the message has disappeared, all you have left to do is install an operating system. -
Thank you. Now I have a black screen. I don't understand what's happening.
I think I need to reset my computer.
It's an ACER Aspire 5100. Do you know how to do it?
Thank you. -
Thank you for this reply. I tried but without success. I think I have definitely lost my computer.
