Hello,
Having bought a new computer equipped with Windows 8.1, I notice that by clicking on the Mail icon, I automatically access my emails without having to enter a password! Is my Outlook (ex-Hotmail) file always open? I don't like this, as if the computer is on, anyone can read my emails in my absence!
What should I do to ensure that Outlook (ex-Hotmail) is only accessible by entering a password? Should I remove Outlook (ex-Hotmail) from the Mail app? ... and how do I do that?
Thank you for your replies,
Daddysnak

Hi, Windows 8 offers during its installation (and even in the settings) to link your Microsoft account with the local account on the PC. To remove this feature, back up your work and then follow the tree structure below:
Right panel > Settings > Change PC settings > Accounts > Disconnect
Then, enter your Outlook password and choose a local account name and password. Finally, click on disconnect and finish. The reverse operation is done the same way but takes more time. The Mail app in Windows 8 no longer automatically displays your emails: it asks you to log in (it's up to you, I haven't tested what it's like).
