Hello,
I have a small problem. In my document, I created a line (like this: _________________) across the entire page width. It then doubled (larger and darker) and I can't remove it! This is due tomorrow, so please help me!
Thank you!
Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 30.0.1599.101

Hello,
You don't say anything about your version of Office.
Personally, I have 2010. It is probably an automatic correction "border" that occurs when typing the line under the 8.
On the left side of your sheet, a button representing a lightning bolt has certainly appeared. Click on the small arrow to the right, then click on undo to erase the border, then check "Stop automatic border creation."
If you don't have this button, go to File/Options/Proofing/AutoCorrect Options/ "While typing" tab/ under apply, uncheck borders. Then erase the border to restore your document as you wish.
If it really is an automatic correction to prevent the formation of a border, just add a space either at the beginning or at the end of your line of dashes. This is a solution if you don't want to remove the automatic correction.
Best regards.-

Here I am back, for OpenOffice Writer it is indeed an automatic border correction (well, I hope that's the case), here is the procedure to uncheck the option
Taken from the AOO help
OpenOffice automatically inserts a line if you type one of the following characters three times in a row and press Enter: - _ = * ~ #
1. Choose Tools - AutoCorrect Options.
2. Click on the Options tab.
3. Uncheck the box "Apply border".
For LibreOffice I suppose it’s the same but I don’t know.
Best regards
