Hello, I am working on a presentation for my college using Word because I find it more convenient than Open Office. However, my college works with Open Office, and when I present my work, it might cause a problem. Is it possible to convert a Word file to Open Office?
Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

OpenOffice and LibreOffice are perfectly capable of handling Word documents, which is not possible the other way around!
Just open the *.doc document and in OOo Writer > File > Save As... and select the appropriate *.odt format (Open Document Text).

A little advice: get to work during your office automation course because today schools have switched to free and open-source software for financial reasons, and no, Word is not more practical than OpenOffice; it's just a matter of practice (with the software). Moreover, there is documentation available online to learn, and it's very easy if you put in a little effort; visit the site:
    http://www.openoffice.org/fr/

    Come on, keep it up!

      Agreed with telliak.

Moreover, la vrille is mistaken in writing "which is not possible in the reverse sense"; indeed, the latest versions of Word allow reading odt files!

Like the rest of Microsoft, Word in its latest versions supports the odt format, but it does so rather poorly. True to its expensive mediocrity!
