Comment to install Windows 3.1 on vmware?

Hello,

I want to install Windows 3.1 on VMware Workstation 9.

Why? It's a matter of nostalgia.

I found an image of Windows 1.0 (an image of a ready-to-use virtual machine and it brought back memories. I was able to configure the installation of MS-DOS 6.22 (more or less successfully since the machine still boots from the floppy disk)
Well... that's not important.

I don't know how to install Windows 3.1 on the C: virtual disk.
I can copy files from the virtual floppy disk to the C drive

I'm asking if someone can tell me if I can copy files from my physical disk to the virtual C drive to be able to install Windows.
