Msi Ge70 - No audio through HDMI since Windows 8.1 Solved

Question

Hello, ever since I updated my PC to W8.1, I no longer have any sound coming through HDMI, the picture is perfect though!
Before 8.1, I had sound and picture without any issues!

I have tried disabling/enabling the devices, done all possible updates... but nothing seems to improve!

The Realtek software doesn't even offer me HDMI sound management, just like the sound manager of W8.1.

Could you help me?? I'm stuck here :S

For your information, HDMI sound issue resolved.

In Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> uninstall Intel(R) sound for display that shows a code 10 and restart the PC with the HDMI cable connected to my monitor...

The sound is working again in stereo, so be sure to change the HDMI audio output settings to 5.1 by right-clicking on Intel(R) sound for display -> configure speakers

And there you go...!!!!! it's finally working. Just need to update this post to resolved

You need to go to the control panel with the HDMI cable plugged in/sound, and you fiddle around; you should find the audio output and select your TV.

Same problem, since 8.1 it's impossible to listen to the sound from the computer on the TV via HDMI. The picture is working normally.

I have updated my graphics and sound drivers, disabled/re-enabled the devices, restarted several times... nothing works.

I have two audio devices: Realtek High Definition Audio and Intel(R) Sound for screens. The second one seems to be the one causing issues...

I'm stuck too, your help would be welcome!

Hello everyone,

Same problem since the Windows 8.1 update.
No sound through HDMI on the TV, only the sound from the PC works.
I checked the drivers and here are my observations:
- Intel(R) sound driver issue for displays: Code 10
- graphics processor issue GeForce GT 750M (NVIDIA): "Shadowplay not ready" and "LED visualization not ready"
- no HDMI output in the Windows sound manager, only Realtek speaker is offered

Installation done, but it still doesn't work. It doesn't seem to come from the graphics card but rather from the sound device manager, which shows no HDMI output, only the speakers.

We need to explore other options ^^

Indeed, the code 10 for "Intel(R) for display" has disappeared from my device manager, but I still do not have the option to select my HDMI output.  I'm at my wit's end....

I’m continuing my investigations but I’m really disappointed that I did an 8.1 update just to get a “start” menu that looks like the Win98 version. It’s poorly done and it messes things up on PCs. Anyway, they don’t care but we have to deal with it ^^

I have the same problem. After installing Windows 8.1 on my Lenovo S440 ultrabook, several of my devices had issues that I managed to resolve, except for "Intel(R) Sound for screens" code 10 and "AMD Radeon HD 8600M Series" (graphics card) code 43.
The latter caused me to restore Windows after I tried to reinstall it: my screen would no longer turn on.
If anyone has the solution...
