Good evening,
first time on a forum,
I hope I can find an answer here;
I have an Acer PC that hasn’t been used for 2 years, I just plugged it in and from startup my screen (Samtron) shows a black screen with a message:
"mode non optimal, mode conseillé 1280 x 1024"
unable to access the desktop, or even the BIOS...
I can't find a real answer by reading different forums,
what should I do?
thanks in advance
cordially

    Hello...

For the BIOS, you’re doing F2, right?
Try Safe Mode by tapping F5 or F8 as soon as you power on...
Otherwise, disconnect the power, and keep the Power button pressed for 30 seconds, then reconnect and boot...

    Best regards,
    See you

    thank you for your reply,
yes I tried all the "F" keys without success, I did what you suggested but nothing...
unfortunately I have the impression that the screen just won't cooperate, to the ear the tower seems to be doing its job correctly...
I’m going to try to find someone to lend me another screen, we’ll see...
    :-(

F or the Suppress, you have to tap them, either one, as soon as you power on...
If it shows you this message, then it isn’t dead... but it doesn’t want the signal that the tower might be sending it... hence the point of making it display something!
Safe mode either, with F5 or F8?
If, when it seems to have started, you press random keys, does it complain or not?

yes, I’m trying all that but without success, no the monitor does not react to the keys (apparently the keyboard works fine since the status LED responds to caps lock)
while digging I came across a forum where people advise trying with another screen to test, and if that works, try changing the screen resolution settings because apparently it can come from drivers that don’t recognize the screen... it seems strange to me but nothing ventured nothing gained...
    thanks anyway for your help

If you tell me which OS you have ( XP, Vista, Seven...) I can guide you blindly to change the setting.....

Ouch... I don’t have one that works currently under XP... I’ll try to get one running, but it won’t be before tonight, a bit late...
