Reset an ASUS x550c laptop to factory settings

Hello,

I would like to reset my Asus x550c laptop to factory settings. I bought it at the end of August this year, and apparently I have quite a few viruses since I often watch movies via streaming. On my old Asus laptop, it was enough to press CTRL+ALT+F9 as soon as the Asus logo appears during startup. But that doesn't work on this one.

I also use AVG as antivirus, and I would like to know if there are better free antivirus options, or if this one is good.

As a student, most of my work is done on the computer. So I need to reset it very quickly.

Thank you!

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 30.0.1599.101

    Hello,

start your PC by tapping the F9 key as soon as the PC boots up, and you will access the factory reset menu.

Please note that all your personal data will be lost.

    Best regards

Thank you, that seems very good to me, it's a bit what my booklet tells me to do, but when it comes to clicking on restore/reset, I don't have any support (CD or hard drive with a backup)... so I'm forced to cancel.

I suppose you don't have a Windows 8 installation DVD?

Very good question... I'll check tonight when I get home, I think there was a CD with it.

Hello, no, no CD, but I have a small booklet. Everything works fine until "restore," where I'm asked for a CD or backup hard drive. Except that I didn't make a backup when I bought the computer, and there was no CD included.

The easiest way is to retrieve the installation DVD or to legally download the ISO from the Microsoft website.
