INFO ON SCAM ON LE BON COIN:
Following the sale of an item, I immediately received a text message asking if the item was still for sale. After my positive response, I received this message by email:
Hello,
I am satisfied and I see that it fits exactly what I'm looking for. After rereading the description of the ad. I am an expatriate French and currently working on a project outside the mainland, I trust you and I would like it to be mutual. I would like to buy it through a cash mandate; if you agree with me, please let me know because I wish to reserve it by sending you the full amount by postal mandate so that once received, you can keep it for me. For that, I will need: your complete address, your NAME; FIRST NAME; COMPLETE ADDRESS AND THE FIXED PRICE, your FIXED and MOBILE numbers, and also the name of the nearest post office to your place so that I can make the mandate. For collection, once in possession of your money delivered by post, we will set a date at your address to collect it as I intend to take it in three (3) weeks of vacation. In order to do what is necessary for you to be able to reserve it for me.
Best regards,
Alain PAPIN

This is a scam used in various ways.
I will not receive a cash mandate, but a check for a significantly higher amount than the set price. I will be told that it is a bank error and asked to cash the check. Then I will have to transfer the difference.
Of course, after 15 days, the bank will inform us that the check is unpaid.
The address used for this scam is: papin.alain11@hotmail.fr

Hello
Highly probable scam
Le Bon Coin.fr starts with a simple idea: the good deal
is around the corner! To post or search for
ads, click on the region of your choice and
find the good deal and therefore nearby
Transactions are made in person, so there is no possibility of a scam
Le Bon Coin: is a Local site! We buy and sell
NEARBY
One rule allows you to avoid all scams: We go pick up the item since we don’t live far from the seller... we check it and pay on the spot if it suits you, and then we take it away
Le Bon Coin being a classified ads site... and not an online marketplace like eBay... there is therefore no need for a buyer protection system, that’s why there isn’t one... and there are no traces of your purchases or sales

The intention is commendable but it's pointless since it's more profitable for them to change their SIM card and thus their number every day if they want (for example, €9.50 for a prepaid SIM card with a new number at Orange). Given the thousands of euros they scam, displaying these numbers is unfortunately useless.
People simply need to understand that Leboncoin, like all classifieds websites in general, are morally local sites.
Please click on "Mark as resolved" if your issue is fixed!

Hello
In buying and selling, don't respond foolishly
The internet is teeming with scammers on every topic
For some, it's even a well-paid job
Their goal is to take a few € from you, preferably hundreds
With any contact on the internet, it is essential to know who you are dealing with
respond with this to start:
I like to know who I am dealing with online, could you please provide me
your name, your exact address, the phone number where you can be reached?
Full Name:----------------------
Address: ------------------------------
City: ---------------
Landline Phone Number only -------
Email: only from ISP--------no yahoo, gmail and other free ones-
For any internet contact, require a landline number, they have the internet so a landline too
And check the directory or on http://www.ctqui.com/ for France
No reply, no problem, you have simply avoided a scammer
And saved your euros or what you are selling
But you have their email address and they must be bored?
Subscribe them to the magazines and readings from https://www.linternaute.com/
Living abroad, the cops in France can’t do anything, and that is the only retaliation possible to ruin their lives and scams

Hello. I have already received mandates through the post and in return sent a tracked package. I just listed a phone for sale and I am receiving texts asking me to respond via email... I am providing the numbers because they are all scams with different email addresses but the same phone numbers. I know that later I will receive a fake payment via PayPal, with fake PayPal emails indicating that a fake deposit has occurred. How do I know this? I called PayPal, wrote to Le Bon Coin, and called the phone numbers that all have voicemail boxes full of messages. So it’s impossible to reach the so-called buyer. Since no operator is doing anything, neither the police nor Le Bon Coin nor PayPal, here are the phone numbers. BEWARE OF SCAM 0665670470 0664094632 0660867373 0663957909 0660896122 0667126617 0665670470 0666555275
Hello, same for me. Today I'm posting for the FIRST TIME a sales ad on Le Bon Coin; I leave my phone number and receive a multitude of texts with email addresses within a few hours, WHAT A SUCCESS! After a few email exchanges, I realize that everything is fake (individual supposedly temporarily abroad, promise of immediate cash transfer...) CONCLUSION: next time, I won't leave my phone number anymore. As for the emails, you quickly spot the "fake buyers": no request for product clarification, distant residence... honestly, I don't think we can do much legally at this stage except WARNING and once warned, being vigilant... Good evening.
Hello, the same happened to me yesterday on Le Bon Coin. I was contacted by this fake "Alain Papin" and the story is always the same. He seems to be using a new mobile number, which is 07 61 59 98 49, and he asked me to contact him only by email "papin.alain09@hotmail.fr".
He wanted to pay me by cash transfer, but his story seemed strange to me... So I asked him some questions, but he quickly got angry, and fortunately, I had the presence of mind to type his name into Google and ended up on this forum!! Thanks to everyone who contributes to it. So be cautious!!

Same here, today following a sales ad on Le Bon Coin, I received numerous SMS and emails that seem fraudulent. Here is the list:
mr.coste059@gmail.com (nickname: coste jacques pierre clément: known as a scammer for a long time)
travolta478@gmail.com (travolta: not bad!!!)
franckmelon10@gmail.com (melon, ha, ha!!)
lescharron17@outlook.fr
From now on, I no longer leave my mobile number on Le Bon Coin, since this morning I've been inundated with stupid SMS!

My email (not listed here) is also being used: I'm receiving tons of messages from sellers on Le Bon Coin in response to emails I've never sent (my email hasn't been hacked). It's driving me crazy and I don't know what to do except change my email address, which annoys me because this address is in my real name (several different variations). Grrrrr!
NEW !!!!!

I don't know what it's worth, we'll see.
When you see how long they took to launch a site like this, while other countries have been working on it for a long time....
The problem over there is that the police forces are without budget, a personal car that has to serve five police officers at work and an old computer running XP for the entire brigade.
It's a bit cliché but it sums up well the incapacity of the Ivorian police to do effective work.

I posted an ad and I have 2 screens full of 70 texts asking me to contact them by email... etc... then I get a PayPal payment offer that will never be paid... in the meantime, I will receive a fake PayPal notice threatening legal action if I don't provide the tracking number. To have peace, reply by text that the item for sale has been sold. They receive the text responses very well... and you always get a voicemail. It’s not an individual but an entire network! Always the same mobile numbers, only the email addresses are different, and to be really safe, ask them to respond through the site or that the item is sold.

Hello,
I posted two beds for sale on leboncoin.fr and was contacted by SMS from the number 0761599849 to contact someone at the email address ***@***; this is a scammer, here is the message:
OK to buy them. Furthermore, you should know that I am abroad for work. Since my wife will be returning permanently in two weeks for health reasons, she will handle the pickup after you have cashed your funds properly. However, since I am handling the payment, I recommend sending money via postal money order, which is secure and reliable as it will allow you to have liquidity (cash) at a postal bank as soon as possible. However, if we are in agreement, please send me: your home address, first and last name, final price, and your phone contacts so I can take care of it tomorrow morning.
Then he sent an email with a very strange procedure which made me look online to see if it was a scam and there, surprise!!!!! the big crook...
BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!

Lol I got the same updated version. Her husband and he want to buy me a phone from abroad and are asking for a cash transfer payment that I will never have. Especially since the post office offers printed forms where you only put your first and last name... no news since. Marc Pajot tel 0667056692... strange for people who want to buy the latest phone but don't have a subscription!
It's no longer 15 days; banks now process deposits from morning to the same evening! At the latest, the next day :).
It's not after 15 days that banks now cash in by morning for that same evening! At the latest the next day :).
I had the same.. Had a good laugh.. The best thing is to give him the address of the police station.. They're so stupid..
Even a local purchase can be a scam or become dangerous.
I know people who ended up with a phone that didn't work, a counterfeit iPhone, others who were extorted...
In short, never go alone to the meeting and be accompanied by people who know the purchased item perfectly.
Lol. They don't change their numbers that often since I have them saved and I still receive those famous texts from the same numbers with different email addresses. It saves me time; I already know I'm going to be offered a PayPal... that isn't settled.
The scam consists of receiving a multitude of emails from so-called PayPal informing about the successful payment... except that when I called them, they told me that these were fake emails not coming from them and that there was no deposit in my account. The package was ready to be shipped... a real verified address and a company name in France... I called the company... again a voicemail asking me to leave a message because they were on vacation! I don't know who the person waiting for the package there was, even having a first and last name... probably fake as well, or maybe the scammer...
And I wonder why this isn't noted in big on the site:
