Bug with the "Backspace" key Solved

Question

Hello everyone

I have a pretty annoying bug with the "delete" key on my office PC... When I try to delete a block of characters, the deletion doesn't work and I end up at the beginning of that block, without anything being deleted. However, deleting letter by letter works...

Do you know if there might be a function to check or uncheck so I can get back the use of my favorite delete key... (In the meantime I'm using the "Del" key but it's much less convenient...)

Can you help me please??

Hi, if you still haven't solved the problem, here's the solution:  on Microsoft Word:  tools => options => editing => check: typing replaces selection  good luck

Hello, I know it's been a long time since you answered this issue, but I've been having the same problem for 6 months now and in WORD PAD or OpenOffice, I can't find tools or editing... I've even downloaded Microsoft Word to solve the problem and now the editing option is missing, anyway I never find the box I need to check! Please help me!!!

In Word 2011 for Mac OS X, you need to go to the Word menu (on the left, just after the Apple menu), then Preferences - Editing, and the checkbox is at the very top of the dialog box.
