I have a problem with eMule. The files I download get stuck in finalization but do not complete.
I think the issue must be coming from Windows because I uninstalled and reinstalled eMule and it doesn't change anything.
It doesn't want to revert to a previous date, it won't indicate if there is a problem.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with eMule, everything was going well at first...
I have 3 movies that have been in finalization for 3 days and no results
can you help me solve this problem with simple and detailed explanations, I'm a beginner (I don't understand the explanations above).
Thanks in advance

Hi
If your file is loaded at 100% and it's just a finalization issue, no worries, you take the temporary file (the same name that the final file would have in .avi) and rename it to .avi (or .xxx depending on the type of download file).

Hi, I have the same problem. I have 2 files in finalization for 3 days and I can't find the name of the file, there is something written about it. If someone can help me.
Ok, but how do I recognize the right one? It says 0.12 or 002.part.stats, there are only numbers, no names.
Hi, I'm a beginner in computing and with eMule, I've been having a problem with hashing and finalizing for 3 days. I've uninstalled and reinstalled eMule, I tried renaming the blocked files in the temporary folder but nothing works, it tells me that the file is being used by someone else. And when I go to My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > I uncheck the hidden option... I then right-click and the computer responds to me "what is this?".
I'm stuck, what should I do? Thank you in advance for your help.

J'ai un problème, je ne sais pas quoi faire, il me met "finalisation" à chaque fois et donc je ne peux pas voir mes films. Comment faire pour les voir ? Je suis bloqué, aidez-moi s'il vous plaît.
I'm struggling and I can't find the relevant temporary files. I'm still at "stop" even though the download is at 100%, there's no finalization and the "complete" notice doesn't appear, I can't find the file corresponding to the download, what should I do? Thank you.
With eMule open,
1) Go to the top menu bar to: Preferences... Directories:
You will then see: Completed Files and Temporary Files. When the hashing works, it transforms the temporary files and moves them to the completed folders. (but if the hashing doesn't work and freezes at Finalization...)
2) Note where your temporary files are, e.g., D:\temp
then in your download list (incoming) where you see it is not finalizing, right-click your mouse and click on: Detailed Information
You will then see 2 important things:
A) The real name of your file and its extension: avi, iso, etc.... (underline and copy the name or whatever the accuracy of the name but the extension yes)
B) The temporary file and its path: e.g., E:\temp\034.part.met
Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, go to your eMule temp folder and find the file in question (Open your window fully)... you will see 3 files, e.g., 034.part 034.part.met 034.met.bak
Rename the largest file, e.g., 034.part, to whatever you want but with the correct extension and then move your corrected file elsewhere.
P.S.: Close your eMule program before renaming, otherwise your system will tell you that the file is in use
There you go!

Good evening, sorry to bother you but when I go to Emule and in preferences, when I click on folder, I see completed files and temporary files, and when I click on temporary, a window appears and what do I do next? I didn't understand. Well, thank you for helping me because I am lost but I would like to see my movies, thanks in advance, Elodie.
To rename a file while changing the extension, you must obviously unhide the extension
Ex: Open: My Documents .. Menu bar at the top: Tools... Folder Options.... View
and uncheck ... Hide extensions for known file types...
This is also a little thing to know :)
otherwise you will rename the file without changing the "hidden" extension
Ex: my_file_to-change_name.avi.part TXT being hidden
Therefore, you need to perform this step on your PC to see the difference in the extensions of your TEMP folder in Emule

In the case of .part files, since they are not "known" to Windows, it is not necessary to uncheck the folder option "Hide extensions for known file types". The proof: when copying or moving the relevant file, the name of the extension is always visible on the screen. Simply replace .part with .avi, as mentioned above. The .avi extension, on the other hand, will not appear on the screen if the hide known extensions option is checked because it is "known". Thus, only the name of the file (034 or whatever name we have given to the file) will be visible.
Hello, thank you all for your help, but I'm having the same problem as some:
I'm fine with renaming the file extensions, but I don't know which file is which since in eMule they have one name, but in temp, they're called 002.part.met, 003.part.bak, etc.
They don't have the same names as in eMule :(
Thanks

In eMule, you go to the top menu PREFERENCES, you should find GENERAL then FOLDER
you will find the locations of all the folders, the one we are interested in is RECEIVED FILES
C:\Program Files\eMule\Incoming if it's written there I recommend changing its location
you have a small box with 3 dots on the right, click on it:
a menu opens SEARCH FOR A FOLDER you click on MY DOCUMENTS "1 click is enough" and then you click
on CREATE A NEW FOLDER "at the bottom of the menu" a small folder is created highlighted in blue for renaming,
you write "Incoming" and confirm with OK "at the bottom right.
After doing this, close eMule, reopen it and let me know if your folders are finished for the next steps.
