Hello,
I ordered customized Timberland shoes a month ago from the following seller http://www.etsy.com/fr/people/pinkpumpspaparazzi?ref=pr_profile
I later realized that this person is a scammer, as they stopped responding as soon as I paid.. Unfortunately, I paid with my credit card and not via PayPal. Is there anything I can do to recover my money? I should mention that the seller resides in the USA and I am in France.
Their email address is as follows: pinkpumpsandpaparazzi@yahoo.com
Please be careful and thank you in advance for your responses.

Ouch, I regularly order from this site, and I've never (thankfully) come across such a scammer.
I think the best thing to do is to contact Etsy as soon as possible and inform them of this scam. The site can respond in French at this address: aide@etsy.com
They will certainly direct you to one of their security sections.
Explain in the email that this seller is a scammer, that he is unreachable, and that he has removed his items.
You can also attach screenshots that prove your purchase (via the site or Paypal).
In any case, I hope you receive a positive response from them.
People like this have no place on sites like these...
Good luck

I contacted my bank who told me that they were unable to do anything (payment abroad). I then directly contacted the site which opened a dispute apologizing for this issue. One month later, Etsy refunded me on behalf of the seller...
