Hello,
I would like to use the "photo scan 6" tool to digitize slides, but an error message appears every time I click "Acquire."
I followed the instructions as indicated on the packaging and on several manuals found online, but the problem persists. The scanner’s small light indicates it is properly connected to my computer. I open the program, click on "Acquire photos from a scanner," select the device "OVT scanner," choose the JPG parameter, specify the desired location, and finally check "slides." Up to here, everything is fine.
BUT when I click "Acquire," an error window opens and says "Can not find Camera. Please connect Omnivision SuperCam."
Could someone help?
Thanks

Good evening,
what is the brand of the scanner? Are you sure that the scanner includes this function for slides? or is it the software that modifies the scanned image afterwards? -
it's an ion.
Yes it is indicated on the packaging "scanner for negatives and slides."
It's this one: https://www.ionaudio.com/slides-2-pc-slide2pc
thank you -
Have you correctly installed the provided driver? If not, try reinstalling it.
-
yes I think so.
ok, I’ll uninstall it and reinstall it. We’ll see how it turns out. -
I just uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but the error message still appears. Then a second window appears indicating that "uTwainExe.exe" has stopped working.
I don’t understand.
Maybe it’s due to improper use of the device?
Should I insert the slide with the dias before clicking "acquire"?
What is the button on the top for?-
hello Céline
it's far, but if it can help you..
i have almost the same, if not the brand
you must have xp or vista, and a USB 2 port! USB1 doesn't work!
i had the same problem, here's how i fixed this issue on vista
put the dvd in, run it, install the driver
connect the scanner (without negative), you'll have a message to install the driver, you click ok
then follow the program installation
when it's finished, you close the installation and remove the dvd
you restart your pc with the camera plugged in
then you'll have a message (install the driver), you click ok, your pc will look for the driver on Windows Update but won't find it, after a few minutes, a message will appear 'insert the dvd if you have it', you insert the dvd, and it will find the driver!
then launch the photoimpression6 program (without putting a negative in the scanner)
it will calibrate, and everything works

I would suggest moving your problem to the Digital Photography section where they will be more qualified to guide you; I don’t know anything about negative scanning.
