Scanner OVT failure with ArcSoft PhotoImpression 6

Hello,

I'm reconnecting my OVT Genie Dia 100 slide scanner that worked under Windows 7 with the Photoimpression 6 software from ArcSoft that came with this scanner.

Now under Windows 11, I cannot scan slides.

When the scanner is connected, in "Computer Management (Local) / System Tools / Device Manager / Imaging Devices", "OVT scanner" is indeed listed among the scanners.

After requesting a driver update, according to the various tabs I have the following main indications:

- the driver is up to date, it is from 2007,

- the device is working properly,

What can I do to use this scanner? I've tried another scanning software (VueScan), but without success.

Should we discard "properly functioning" devices when they are a bit old, or is there a way to reactivate them?

Thanks in advance to the knowledgeable saviors who could help me

Good evening and thank you for this information.

The provided link leads to the response:

"I am Jaspreet Singh an independent advisor.
Unfortunately no the last driver update for the scanner was for windows 8.1 that can be downloaded from here : https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search..."

The driver offered is the one on my PC, which is why I am looking for a possible solution with another software compatible with my scanner.

      Hello,

      You indicate...

I'm resuming my OVT Genie Dia 100 slide scanner that worked under Windows 7 with the PhotoImpression 6 software from ArcSoft that was provided with this scanner. Today, under Windows 11, I am unable to scan slides.

    Hello,

Thank you, but I keep coming back to the same 2007 driver, which is already installed.

I'm not very skilled and I don't know:

    - if a driver makes the device itself work or the software attached to it (PhotoImpression 6 in this case)?

    - if there are any variations or "generic" drivers (like for medications)?

    Hence my search.

Thank you for the patience of those who respond.

      Hello,

Generic drivers don't exist in computing. The software PhotoImpression is not up to date. Its latest version 6.5 is unfortunately not free.

Hello, Thank you for this clarification. If the software was capable not only of image processing but also of scanning with my scanner, I could have already used the 15-day trial version. But we get the message "We're sorry, but the download of this software is suspended.

    What bad luck!

    Thanks again.
