Hello everyone

I would like to change my Nvidia GT 610 graphics card to improve my gaming performance

and upgrade to a GTX series 6.

But I don't know if my PC can accommodate it because the official site does not mention

if we can install higher-end models.

Link to the site with my computer:

http://shop.lenovo.com/fr/fr/laptops/ideapad/u-series/u410/#caractéristiques

My configuration

Lenovo ideaPad U410

Intel Core i5 i5-3317U 3rd generation processor 1.8 GHZ

Nvidia GT 610 that I would like to replace

Intel 4000 HD integrated in the processor

Thank you for your responses and have a nice day

In most cases, the GPUs of laptops cannot be replaced. They are soldered to the motherboard.

Hi!

Bad news, I really doubt we can change the graphics card in your PC.

To summarize, in order to change a graphics card in a laptop, your PC must have an MXM format graphics card. These cards are expensive and mainly available in high-end models (like Alienware, for example). In more mainstream PCs, the graphics cards are soldered directly to the motherboard, making them impossible to change.

Moreover, your cooling system will not be suitable for handling the heat discharge that will come with installing a much more powerful graphics card.

OK, thank you for your very concrete answers. I will at least change the processor and the

RAM and maybe the fan.

Please.

For the processor, it might also be complicated, especially since the price is so high. Especially since an i5 is more than sufficient for most uses (yours too, I think).

RAM is easily upgradable, but you really have to push it to use more than 4GB. At most 6GB.

As for the fan, I've never seen anyone do it; we'll see, but the temperatures won't drop significantly.

Unfortunately, you don't have a desktop PC, so you can't change the card because the GPU (graphics chip) is directly soldered to your motherboard. Therefore, unfortunately, you can hardly change anything.

After (sorry for my double comment) MSI and other brands will release a graphics card docking station to connect them externally, but it's not coming anytime soon :)
