Windows 7 BOOTSTAT.DAT issue

Hello,

So, I have a little problem with my PC.
I'm on Windows 7 and when I start my ACER PC, at the usual login screen where I usually enter my password, an error message indicates that:
The file or directory E\BOOTSTAT:DAT is corrupt and unreadable. Run the CHKDSK utility.
I can't even reach the desktop because right after this error message another message informs me that the PC will shut down.
This is my desktop PC for work, so I'm quite bothered, so if anyone knows how to fix this it would be really cool. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to run the command prompt at startup of your PC and run chkdsk / on your disk?

Hi there! I hope you're doing well apart from that :)

I have a suggestion for you.

Try to boot it in safe mode (Press F8 during PC startup [to be done before the "Starting Windows..." screen]) if you can, then open the command prompt as an administrator (Start Menu - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt - [Right click] Run as administrator) and type the command: "format c:"

I think this will solve your problem. Let me know quickly if it worked ;-)
