Hello everyone
Regarding scammers, I'm going to tell you a really nice story because I think I've hit "the top of the top" or the jackpot, whichever you prefer
It all starts with receiving a private email in my inbox
It's from a 29-year-old Russian woman with several photos attached, an angelic face, I swear!!!!!!!!!
She tells me that she got my email address from a website whose name she can't remember. It's off to a good start!!
She lives in Kasimov and her name is Ekaterina
The first few emails, nothing special to note, everything is fine, just that her desire is to travel to France for a month and that she was supposed to come with a friend. But she had to change her plans because the friend in question broke her leg going down some stairs, how unfortunate!!!!!!!!!!!
So, she plans to come to France alone, having no other choice, in fact, she has paid a deposit to a travel agency and if she cancels, obviously, the deposit will be lost
In her first emails, therefore, nothing noteworthy, in a very hesitant French, she's the perfect serious Russian woman with moral values above average. OK, why not after all
And without me asking her anything, she announces that she is leaving from KASIMOV, the city where she lives, to Moscow (500 km by bus) to get her plane ticket from the travel agency and pay the rest of the ticket after the deposit already paid.
After buying this ticket, the next day she has an appointment at the French embassy in Moscow to obtain her visa
And surprise, she gets her visa two days later, when the average processing time for issuing a visa at the French embassy is between 6 and 10 days
Well!!!!!!!! I say nothing but it's starting to be a bit much to swallow, but I don't show anything in our email exchanges that take place every day
And then to my great surprise, on the same day she gets her visa, I receive a call from this woman named Ekaterina
And then, I understood everything!!!!!!!!!!! While in the various emails she wrote to me with a somewhat hesitant French, now this charming creature speaks to me on the phone in excellent French !!!!!!!!!!!!! So, find the casting error!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't help but gently mention that she had made serious progress in French, but I didn’t say more!!!
After that, I thought that with this gently slipped phrase, this story was "wrapped up"
But I was not done with my surprises
Yes, scammers know no limits, it's well known!! It had to happen, yes!!! I’ll give you a thousand guesses, the day after this phone call, this super scammer had the audacity to ask me to send her 700 euros, claiming she lacked this amount to come to France
Her departure date was set for 5 days later, just enough time for me to send her the money
The motivation for her request was supposedly because customs told her that a solvency of 50 euros per day would be required for her trip abroad, so for one month, do the math: 50 euros multiplied by 30 days = 1500 euros
I thought I would get the information from the source and I checked with the embassy and they informed me that this regulation is completely false and that it is a widely spread scam in Russia
Really hilarious, I tell you .... scammers will stop at nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
