Hello!

I found a site that seems really interesting, which buys our mobile phones, etc. for recycling.
Basically, you enter the phone model, check what the best price on the market is for resale, sell it to a professional who recycles phones, and then wait for an envelope to send your phone back. After that, you wait a few days and receive a check.

The principle is good, the prices are really great (my iPhone 4S 16GB is being bought back for €250!!!)... but I hesitate to send it without getting your opinion because if I send my phone and never receive any money, I'd be in a real mess!

Has anyone already used this site? Did you have a good experience with it?

Thanks in advance for your replies! :)

This is sponsored! The same message on Yahoo Questions! Need a bit of SEO? No need to ask for an opinion about this site when you're working there! I hope it's an intern making these posts because otherwise it's serious and poorly done!

Well, not having received a response from one side, I'm trying the other side. Like normal people do. Otherwise, how are you doing on your side, managing to survive without feeling hunted by the villains everywhere?
Otherwise, for your information, I'm citing two different sites and especially asking for an opinion before using this site (like others do on Amazon or leboncoin, in this same forum, without necessarily working there).

You can either provide an answer or move on and have fun discrediting all the other users looking for an opinion...
In any case, for me, it's too late; I managed without any opinion. Thanks to the community that doesn't serve much, except for this kind of nice supportive message.

Big scam! I sent my smartphone which was in perfect working condition, the screen and the case showed no defects. The trade-in value was estimated at €34. A week later, I receive an email stating that it is now worth only one euro because, according to them, the screen has scratches. Moreover, if I want to recover my phone, I have to pay the return shipping fees (€5). One piece of advice, run away!

For me, this kind of site is to be avoided! For example: I have a 27" iMac from late 2013 with an i5, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive... which is worth between €300 and €400 second-hand, and they offer me €51, what a joke.

Anyway, it seems that money is more important to them than ecology, but that's just my feeling.

I sent my phone to Comprecycle ... a phone that I had maintained and kept in a case for 2 years, it was in perfect condition like new (case protection + screen protection) the self-assessment offered me €63, which was fine for me, I just received an email saying that it was good for the trash, that there were scratches everywhere and that the back of the phone was defective as well as one of the ports ... with supporting photos, but not showing the serial number of my phone ... HUGE SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
these people are simply thieves, do not send your phone at all ..!!!!!

No response? Has anyone ever tested a phone buyback site (other than CompaRecycle.com or MobileRachat.com?)

Thanks :)

Beware, well-oiled machine... to fleece you.
They promise you the moon for your phone: flattering estimate, reassuring talk, everything's fine. You send the device, confident.
And then... curtains.
I had an offer of €66 for my Galaxy A50.
In the end, they tell you €5 because it supposedly has scratches that I didn't notice before sending it.
And the cherry on top: if you want to get your phone back, you have to pay for the return.
Result? Like many others, people give up. The phone disappears. End of story.

A perfectly honed system:
attract with a price,
devalue upon receipt,
discourage with fees,
recover phones for free.

I strongly advise against it.

big scam, they claim to have only received the empty box of my iPhone while the phone was inside, all this to avoid paying the promised 640 euros.

I’m going to file a complaint

Hello, did you file a complaint because I have the same problem?

Hello,

Even if one were to file a complaint, it cannot be done against the site because the phone could very well have been stolen during transport, and certainly not against X because it cannot be formally proven that the phone was there unless it was packed and then sent under the supervision of a judicial commissioner.

If, by an extraordinary chance, such a complaint were received, the judicial police have bigger fish to fry than to invest substantial resources that are almost certainly destined to fail, and the prosecutor's decision to dismiss the case is also virtually certain.

Here is the message received on how to recover a phone for free.

The verification of your product during certification revealed that your product is considered as "waste electrical and electronic equipment" subject to regulation.

This product poses risks during handling and/or transport (risk of explosion related to the battery condition...) and should never have been sent to us.

This product will therefore be directed to the appropriate recycling channel for dismantling.

We remain at your disposal.

Best regards,

I have used Magic Recycle several times, plus they have opened a store for purchasing refurbished phones at very good prices.
