Hello,

I know this kind of post already exists, but it doesn't work in my case.
I don't have the password for my TV, and even LG support can't help me...
The code 0325 doesn't work: incorrect password.
Support told me to mute three times and then enter the code 129472. But muting three times brings up a window asking me to confirm the reset of the picture and sound, and then nothing happens. I can't enter the code.

I just got the solution. I'm testing it tonight ...
The solution is suitable for LG TVs from 2013 onwards:

Go to the lock.
After the password request is displayed, press the "Mute" button 3 times.
A 6-character password request appears.
Enter 129472.
Then enter a new 4-digit password

Hi,

"mute" means to cut the sound, not to "pause", that might be your problem.

Otherwise, take a good look at the manual, smart TVs operate on software like Android or its derivatives, just like on any tablet there should be a "reset" button that restores the default settings. Generally, it's a very small hole into which you slide a pin or the end of a paperclip!

I had the same forgotten password issue, I pressed the MUTE button three times, a window opens, and you need to enter the code 129472, another window opens asking you to enter a new password and then it asks you to confirm the new password and that's it.
My TV is an LG 42LM640S-ZA

Hi,
LG TV 32LN577S bought yesterday: password not working, neither 1234, nor 0000, nor 1111, nor 222, nor..., nor 0325, reset code: a message appeared saying "check p.w."
I tested a procedure saying to press Mute 3 times and enter the code 129472. Indeed, if you are on the home screen, pressing Mute 3 times brings up a message offering to reset: there's no option to enter that infamous code.
But if you have opened the window asking to enter the password, the 4 boxes with the first one red, without typing any number, press Mute 3 times now.
And then, like magic, 6 boxes appear and you can enter the code 129472 and confirm with OK.
And it works!!! You are asked to enter a new code and confirm it.
Thanks LG for such a headache! A real mess!
I will take the liberty of calling them to ask them about the why and how;

YOU NEED TO PRESS MUTE 3 TIMES, ONCE ENTERING THE 4-DIGIT PASSWORD REQUESTED, AND NOT ON THE TV'S HOMEPAGE. A WINDOW WITH 6 BOXES WILL OPEN. THEN YOU NEED TO ENTER THE CODE 129472.
OTHERWISE, THERE'S NO OTHER SOLUTION. YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL LG.
