40 GB of internet is equivalent to approximately 80 hours of streaming video at standard definition (SD) or around 10 hours at high definition (HD), depending on the specific bitrate used for the content.

Hello,
I intend to buy a phone with internet included
I have the option of a plan for €3.95, I believe, 1 hour of calls, SMS, and 40 GB of internet
Since I don't intend to use the internet much, just to check emails, do a bit of research on Google, I'm wondering how much time 40 GB corresponds to.
Internet on my phone is just for light use.
Otherwise, I’m offered another plan with 1 MB
I would like to know if 40 GB equals 15 minutes, half an hour, or more
Thank you for your replies

In fact, we can't talk about the internet in terms of time since consumption is measured in terms of data exchanged. For example, if you receive an email with several attachments totaling 10 MB over 4 emails, 40 MB of your plan is used up. The same goes if you watch one or two videos on Facebook.
After that, you can do like me and connect as much as possible to Wi-Fi. As a result, I consume 30/40 MB of data per month on my plan and almost 6 GB on Wi-Fi.
EDIT: If we watch Netflix in low quality (0.3 GB per hour) and do just that, it represents 133 hours:

40 GB per month is more than enough to browse the web and read emails. You just have to avoid watching videos too often.
Thank you very much, Yohann, for your response.
