Hello,
I had to format my laptop due to a problem...
Since then, I reinstalled Windows 7, then I went to Sony's website (on my PC) to download the essential drivers onto a USB stick and install them without any issues on the Vaio.
All the drivers and devices are recognized, EXCEPT:
# network controller
# ethernet controller
# unknown controller
This means I have no internet access because of this :/
The ethernet driver available on Sony's website installs perfectly and asks me to reboot the device. But after the restart, the same problem persists...
Can someone please help me? Thanks.

For a 64-bit version --> Ethernet
Unzip it and install it manually:
Go to Device Manager
Right-click on the ethernet controller
Search for a driver on my computer
Browse
Go to the unzipped driver folder
Folder --> win7
Select the folder --> X64
Next, etc...
Restart
For the network controller --> Wireless
Unzip it
Run the setup.

Thank you for your response...
The hyperlink you put on "7zip" unfortunately doesn't work...
And the other hyperlink is the ethernet driver in question that I found on the Sony website... So it installs perfectly, but after rebooting, it still doesn't find the drivers for the ethernet card. -
Hello,
The link provided by kaneagle for 7-Zip works.
In the Device Manager, right-click on "Ethernet Controller", choose "Properties" and then "Details".
Click on the dropdown menu, select "Hardware IDs".
Post the information (example: PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_1026&SUBSYS_82261043&REV_B0).
Just copy the first line, that's enough.
Do the same for the other two controllers. -
# Ethernet Controller: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_908B104D&REV_06
# Network Controller: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_E037105B&REV_01
# Unknown device: "I cannot find hardware identification numbers" in the dropdown menu... -
For the Ethernet controller, it's fixed! :D
However, for the network controller, it's not working :(
I restarted and still no internet. -
Unzip it and install it manually:
Go to Device Manager
Right-click on the network controller
Browse my computer for drivers
Browse
Go to the unzipped driver folder
Select the folder --> ndis6xWin7
Next, etc...
Restart

Thank you very much for your help, but I'm sorry I can't find it :/
In the folder Install_Win7_7069_03212013 I can't find ndis6xWin7. -
