Hello,
I am having trouble with my Iomega eGo 500GB external hard drive. I connect it to both USB ports on my PC, but it is not recognized.
I have another one that my computer detects well, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the computer.
I have also swapped the connection cables of each external drive, but the same issue persists; my external hard drive is still not detected.
I have travel photos on this drive that I care about a lot.
If anyone could suggest how to resolve this issue, I would be grateful.
I should mention that this external drive has not suffered any particular shocks.
Thanks in advance.

It's possible that your problems stem from a failure of the SATA-IDE <=> USB interface located in the enclosure.
It would be interesting to remove the drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to the motherboard of a PC.
This way, we can bypass this interface and the internal and USB connections.
In my opinion, it's worth a shot.
