broken Toshiba external hard drive USB port

Question

Hello,

The USB port of my Toshiba external hard drive has sunk in, and I can no longer connect it to access my data.

I have disassembled it, and I now have the end with the circuit board. The USB port is unsoldered, and I think a piece is missing.

I think the simplest solution would be to buy a board with the printed circuits, but I don’t know where I can buy this. Does anyone know where I can purchase this online, and what it’s called exactly?

The easiest thing would be to replace this socket.
But it will be very difficult to find an identical socket.

Yes, that's what I would like to do because I don't think I have other solutions.

I also tried to find an identical used hard drive, but so far I haven't found one.

This is a USB connector for a printed circuit board.
But there must be a multitude of variants.
There is a good chance that the manufacturer designed this connector specifically for their own production.

In my opinion, all you can do is take the hard drive out of the "sick" case and install it in a new case.

At least you will be able to utilize this hard drive.

If I buy an external hard drive enclosure for 2.5 inches, is the connector included inside, and will it allow me to read the data from the hard drive (and possibly continue to use it)?

I just experienced the same issue with my Toshiba external hard drive.
The USB connection has "detached" and is now loose inside the casing.
As a result, I can't connect it to the USB cable.

Did the process of changing the casing work properly??
What equipment should I choose??
