WiFi Connection Authentication Request Solved

Question

Hello,  On a new HP Pavilion G7 laptop, it asks me for "Network authentication", user identification info....? and it doesn't connect... What is this, it's the first time I've had this question... and I have several PCs on the same network behind the same BOX  However, it's the only one on Wi-Fi and Windows 7... the other laptops are on XP.  I do have a wired connection... I can see the "available connections" and I can connect fine to SFR_wifi_FON which is open but impossible to connect to the NeufBOX with Private.  What should I do...? What should I enter for this username and password...??  I've read about this key thing, but I don’t see what to do.  I'm ready to remove security to bypass this issue.  Thanks in advance    Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 20.0

Good evening.... The simplest way is to choose the protected network of your box, and enter the WPA or WEP key found on the back of your box, using 20 characters: the letters should be entered in lowercase, without any spaces or hyphens... only lowercase letters and digits (around 2 or 3) to reach 20... Good evening, thank you  Okay, but I know that, I've done it on all my other PCs without problems, by the way, I know my key by heart. I've typed this key, but it doesn't work.  But here, it's something else it's asking me...?? Is it a user authentication??

Thank you for your willingness... I found it, here is the response:  What I mentioned above is not available... It's quite simple, it is indeed the wifi key of the modem.  You need to go to ---> Network and Sharing Center ---> Set up a new connection or network ---> and complete the window that opens with the name = SSID name of the modem... Key type... Enter the Wifi key...  Optionally check the 2 boxes below... Depending.  OK... ---> In fact, nothing happens in the menu anymore; but we are connected  I think that the "automatic" connection is predisposed for another type of key (that it requires) while the manual configuration allows everything to be set up with its modem, including WEP keys... Which are not known to be the most secure.... But there is hardware that only works with the WEP key.  We won't necessarily change everything every time... To please Bill..  A+++ I'm happy

Personally, I'm 400 km away from home, and I connected to the public SFR just by entering my landline number and my password...no worries about security, I'm not doing anything risky! ;)  Best regards, See you!
