    Hello,
The word mixing means blending, stereo mixing is blending sounds from two different sources each containing two channels, one corresponding to the right side and the other to the left side.

During recording, the sound is captured in stereo with one track per instrument, then we mix all the tracks to achieve a balance between the different instruments and to highlight the vocals more or less.

It is also possible to achieve a spatial effect by mixing the right and left channels; when they are at an equal level, the sound seems to come from the middle. It is also possible to make sounds move from one side to the other, to cross them, to attenuate one channel or the other, to boost one channel or the other, etc.
This work is primarily reserved for the recording studio.

DJ mixing also utilizes spatial sound effects but is aimed at experienced DJs; the basic work of the DJ is to continuously play music while considering the tempo (BPM) and the style of music that will be transitioned.
The DJ will inject jingles or effects (Echo, Reverb, Flanger, etc.) during the track playback, while creating loops and respecting the beats.

I hope I have answered your question, I remain available, best regards...

    Signed, Papy DJ
