Remove the footer line

Hello,

every time I click in the footer, a black line appears and I don't want it! How can I get rid of it and just leave the number?

In fact, as soon as I click on the footer, in my case I want to insert a page number and with Word 2010 I have no choice, there is always a line!

A border on the footer?
Hover the cursor over the footer paragraph:
Home tab / Paragraph group => border button: select no border.
