Hello everyone!
I'm thinking of buying a 500GB Memup Media Disk multimedia hard drive and I have a few questions to ask you ^^
Would you recommend buying this multimedia hard drive?
Is the noise level really higher than that of a normal computer and bothersome?
My PC is connected to my TV (the images that appear on my PC also appear on my TV) so that I can watch movies on my PC (those with special formats or with subtitles, for example), will I be able to watch movies (with or without subtitles) recorded on the multimedia hard drive connected to my PC, which is itself connected to my TV, using VLC?
Thanks ^^

For those who have recognition issues, I tested all the solutions I could find until I simply replaced the USB cable with the one from my MP4 player, and miracle, my PC recognizes it every time.
So try changing this cable before doing anything more complicated.

Ah help, I have the same problem, I got the Memup multimedia hard drive and it was working perfectly, but tonight my PC decided not to recognize it anymore!!! The thing is, this nice little device contains all my "vital" info (photos, music, and movies) and if I lose them it's the end of the world (at least!!!)!!!
Does anyone have a super genius solution?
I should mention that I'm not very good with computers!!!!

Hello, I have one, no problem (Memup media disk 400g) but a friend of mine formatted his by mistake and now it won't work again. My setup is XP Pro AMD 2700+ with 1.048 memory, 400 GB hard drive
and a laptop running Windows 98!! because the hard drive must be formatted in FAT32.
I proceeded as follows: started the laptop, installed the Memup driver then connected the hard drive via USB; the PC recognized it and I formatted it under MS-DOS (FAT32), which took quite a while (400 GB) but no problem!
I reconnected the media disk to the TV and got the message ''fatal error 04''. What should I do????
Thank you for the solution
kind regards
Fred

No luck, the PC doesn't recognize it anymore every time, and when it does recognize new hardware, it refuses to install it properly...
Please give me a solution, please!!

Good evening
I am the unfortunate owner of a Memep media disk 320 purchased from E.l in 2006. Within a week, I reported that the machine was making a loud noise, forcing me to turn up the TV volume. E.L's response was that your disk isn't full!!!!!!!! and doesn't spin properly
I'm fed up with these supermarkets that don't care about us, so I locked the HDD in a drawer, haha, that's not the right solution. So before the warranty expired, I took the equipment back to E.L, and after a month with an extended warranty, yes, but unfortunately, nothing got better—a loud fan noise, even worse. As for the fan, I removed it. So my advice: not to go for Memup—it makes noise, and they don't care about customers. The solution for a multimedia HDD is a casing and a HDD to assemble in the casing; the nice surprise is that the casing, depending on the brand, can have a warranty of more than a year, and the HDD, depending on the brand, can be guaranteed from 2 to 5 years. Cheers for a good purchase
best regards

No worries, I have this 400GB hard drive!!
Movies with subtitles play perfectly on the TV! The noise is insignificant compared to a computer! Slight heating at the start but that's normal with a fan!
Don't hesitate to go for it, this drive is great!!

it's crap!! I've had it for 5 formats now, all my info, my movies, basically everything is lost!!
it's really crap and I don't want it anymore!! I'm waiting for tomorrow to put it under the wheels of my car to drive over it good, because I've had enough!!
one piece of advice, never buy this hard drive

Hi,
I bought this hard drive for Christmas and to my great disappointment, if you don't have a PC, you can't organize your hard drive as you wish. Furthermore, my remote control just broke down after 3 days. On the plus side, it makes almost no noise (500GB) and plays almost all files.
So before buying it, check out its competitors especially in terms of reliability.

HI
I BOUGHT A MEMUP 400 GO AS SOON AS IT CAME OUT AND I THINK IT'S GREAT BECAUSE NO MORE BURNING
BUT (THERE'S ALWAYS A BUT) IT MAKES REALLY TOO MUCH NOISE (AT MY PLACE MORE THAN MY NOTEBOOK) I HAVE TO TURN UP THE TV VOLUME
MOREOVER THERE ARE NO FIRMWARE UPDATES FOR THE FIRST MODELS
AND ON TOP OF THAT THE HDD SOMETIMES LAGS THE AUDIO AND VIDEO WITH CERTAIN DIVX EVEN THOUGH THESE DIVX HAVE NO PROBLEMS ON CD WITH A CHEAP GRANDIN PLAYER OR ON MY PC
AS A RESULT, YOU SHOULD NOT RUSH TO BUY ONE AND MAKE SURE IT ACCEPTS UPDATES AND DOES NOT MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE

HI
Hello everyone, I recently received a Memup LX 500 Go multimedia hard drive as a gift. I plug it into the computer, it recognizes a new device but then tells me that there was a problem during installation and that there might be an issue with it. Should I return it to customer service or is it a driver problem? Please help me!
I just fixed this issue with mine.
I went to consult the memup support and the fault comes from Windows, because the hard drive is assigned to letter F: if it is used by another device (USB stick, another hard drive....) Windows no longer recognizes the hard drive and cannot install it. Not knowing the drive letter of the multimedia hard drive beforehand, I formatted it and it was the first device I connected; Windows recognized it immediately. Try to "free up" letter F: from all drives and connect your multimedia hard drive.

no recognition you need to format it either ntfs with your pc disk manager (don't get the letter wrong) for example j or in fat 32 with the fat32formatter software (zipper) again don't get the disk wrong
then that it has recognized
right click on it properties give it a name "memup"
security tab group "everyone"
personality tab "image and video"
plug it into the tv with the rac cord and if it doesn't work plug in the usb cord then remove it
turn off the ddm and turn it back on
good luck it works very well FOR THE MOMENT the ddm is silent
see you++

hello
I bought the 400 GB three months ago. No particular issues, but still a little problem: in many movies or videos, the sound and the image are out of sync!!! How can I fix this? In settings, I have Windows Vista and I don't think there are compatible drivers. Can someone help me? Best regards.

Hello,
I have a problem with my Memup Media Disk multimedia hard drive, I can no longer access the menu on the TV,
I get a message that says "Copyright reserved by nootec" and I'm stuck!
If anyone has a solution, please help me.
Thank you.

Hello,
I have the same problem as you and I think I’m going to return the HDD under warranty.
It happened to me after I copied an AVI that a friend made from a VHS.
When copying this AVI, the HDD crashed and stopped (the red LED was not even on anymore). After several attempts, I managed to copy the file and since then, I’ve had the startup error on the TV.
I bought an internal HDD, then I backed everything up and reformatted the multimedia HDD.
I still have the issue. For my part, I think something has corrupted the BIOS of the multimedia section.
If you found a solution to your problem, I’m interested; otherwise, I will return it to Gros Bill Micro.

Hello everyone!!!!
So there you go, in a few days I will receive the Memup Media Disk 750 Go. Do you have any information about it (good performance, etc.)?
Given what I've just read above, I'm not very reassured, and I'm afraid I've made the wrong choice with my hard drive. Furthermore, since my CD/DVD drive is no longer working (the icon no longer appears in My Computer, it doesn't read anything), I won't be able to install my hard drive. Is the installation CD really necessary for the hard drive to function? If so, can someone send me the installation files so I can launch them via my PC (Windows XP)? Thank you.

Hey!! Apparently it's not working!!!! I have Windows Vista!! I don't know if it's working!!
but it doesn't always recognize!! Please help!!!

Exact, I reactivated the ports of the HDD and it worked. I think the transportation of the HDD also played a role; I had already experienced this issue with another HDD. Thanks to Fred 62 for the idea—it's simple and obvious, but you had to think of it.
Attention, for those who have or will buy a Memup LX 500 hard drive, there is a connection problem with the PC; the drive is not recognized due to a poor installation of the HDD in its casing for models whose serial number begins with a 7. The hard drive is not correctly mounted inside the casing. It is not connected to the supporting board.
Solution: Dismantle the casing, loosen the screws that hold the HDD, push it to connect properly, and tighten the screws, and that's it.
Mine works perfectly since this fix.

Hello Koubiak,
I’m taking a chance hoping that you’ll catch my message.
You are the lucky owner of a Memup Media Disk 500 that I’m about to buy.
But everything I read doesn’t encourage me.
Could you answer these few questions?
1 - On Amazon, the Memup is delivered with a SCART cable, which suggests a possible connection to my "old" TV. However, the user manual retrieved from the Memup site doesn’t mention anything about this.
2 - The manual specifies that you need to create photo, video, and Music folders. Can you create sub-folders within each of these folders to facilitate organization and access?
3 - Is it possible to store computer files without causing issues with the multimedia part?
4 - Is it as noisy as I’ve read?
Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.

I wanted to know if you found a solution for your Memup hard drive. I have the same problem, my PC doesn't recognize the hard drive. I've spent almost the whole day reading forums looking for drivers.
I have Windows XP SP3
Thanks in advance
Vincent
