Who can get memup mediadisk running

Hello,
I would like to format my MEMUP MEDIADISK LX LAN SERIES to FAT32, but the formatting utility available on the MEMUP site requires an activation key that is supposedly on the CD provided with the multimedia drive.
However, mine has nothing indicated.
I have sent an email to MEMUP but I still haven't received a response.
Does anyone know where I could get it?

I managed to get it started. I found out somehow that it required formatting!!

But now, every time I unplug it, it's not recognized. I plug and unplug, put the installation CD back in, etc.........

Anyway, it's recognized by the PC when it decides to (almost like it passes through the window)
Moreover, when I transfer files, 3/4 of them don't show up on the TV; I don't know where to find them (they're still there when I plug it back into the PC).

In the manual, it advises organizing files by themes (video, music, photos); however, I still need to be able to find them with an installation CD that seems really basic to me.

If someone could shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I have another issue.

It was properly recognized by the PC, I went through the SCART, and the menu appeared. I immediately wanted to change the setup to French, no problem. I went out and since then, nothing!! It starts initialization and then displays "No signal." How can I get back to the setup? And why does it not start anymore after the initialization message?
If you have any ideas, or the solution, I'm all ears.

I had the same problem with the Memup Xdrive III.
The solution is to format the disk in FAT32 (XP formats it in NTFS). There is a tool (check the Memup website) that allows you to format Memup drives in FAT32.

Give it a try.

You need to use a utility to format to FAT32. The utility is available on the Memup website.

And for Mac, does anyone know how to get the hard drive recognized? Because the Disk Utility tells me it's a risky operation xD

use a Linux or Ubuntu CD and boot from it, try it without installing
and once on the desktop, you can format the desired disk, you can format the entire disk while on Windows, after switching to NTFS, you can only reformat 32GB!!! Linux is free and again, this method does not require installation and does not create issues on the Windows partition, remove the CD before restarting

Now it's working again (if we can say that)

I managed to put the DD icon on the desktop but it won't open (PLEASE INSTALL FAT32 FORMAT AGAIN)

So I go through the device C:/K and on my TV I can barely watch 3 movies even though there are more than 30

I've struggled too, and thanks to this forum here is the solution:
If your serial number starts with 7, and you have the impression that the hard drive "floats" in its slot, open it!
It's not hard, there are 2 screws to remove, and there you'll see that the hard drive is poorly secured in the connector on the printed circuit board (the green plate with the solder points). Just secure it properly by screwing the hard drive back in, and it works like a charm.
To connect to the TV, it works with either cable, but with mine, only with the SCART...
Have fun with the mechanics, the best is yet to come!
Reminder: for XP, no driver needed, it recognizes it on its own (that's what's happening with me).

I'm butting in on the post because I had (or I have) the intention of buying the Memup MediaDisk (I’ve had an external 2.5” hard drive with a card reader for years, and it works perfectly) but given what I read above, if it's already a hassle on PC, I think I'm going to be really annoyed on Mac! I received the Memup MediaDisk LX LAN 1000 Go Full HD 1080p and connected it to the TV via the SCART adapter.
It works great!!! Very clear image, and easy to use!!!!
No formatting etc. etc...... factory formatted. If there are no images, press "tv system" on the remote.
On the other hand, guys, the manual isn’t just there to look pretty in the box, you need to read it a little, it avoids asking stupid questions and getting frustrated!!!! There’s also documentation on the "memup" website.

In conclusion: good equipment, image and sound super correct!!!!!!!

I bought this reader in April, my computer has always had trouble recognizing it, but after 2 or 3 times plugging it in, it would still recognize it. However, for the past 2 days, it no longer recognizes it at all, and even my TV no longer recognizes it!

Oh dear! I see it's a hassle with the Memup HDD. That doesn't comfort me either, as I also have the Mediadisk ZX HD model 1TB.
I bought at your store, on May 29, 2010, a MEMUP multimedia hard drive "MEDIADISK ZXHD1TB MULTIMEDIA, Invoice No. F041-40074129, which suffers from two major malfunctions, namely:
1. The failure to enter standby after a scheduled television recording.
2. The clock stopping when manually put into standby.

I have just requested a return and refund based on the following conclusions:

1. In this configuration, making a scheduled recording, whether distant or weekly, requires leaving the device constantly on; this is unacceptable.
2. Going through the SETUP menu first to update the internal clock in order to schedule a recording; this is unacceptable.
3. Issuing new firmware, claiming to fix the reported issues when it does not; this is unacceptable and indefensible. Just like marketing a product with major malfunctions, which has been confirmed in online forums.
4. Having an incompatible remote control following the installation of firmware version 1.1; this is unacceptable.
5. The fan noise, although discreet, does not allow for this device to be installed in a living room next to a television without causing significant inconvenience, which is very regrettable.

We'll see, but it's certain that I will do what it takes to get it returned.

Easy!! I had a problem with a 500GB Memup drive. The photos were no longer displaying on the TV after using a data synchronization software, Fullsync. I reformatted the Memup, but since I have Vista, it was formatted in NTFS. Later, it wasn't even recognized by my PC and almost ended up in the trash.
The solution to format in FAT32 with Vista: use the CD that came with the drive. In the files, look for a folder named setup.zip. Extract everything into a new directory. Search in this directory for setup.exe. Double-click it. A menu will offer to format in FAT32. In the drop-down menu, select the drive to be reformatted. Click. Here we go, it takes a maximum of 5 seconds.
