Hello,
This forum was very helpful to me when I was looking for information about the issue with my Samsung LED TV UE46C6000, which is why I'm here to share my experience.
Having happily owned a Samsung LED since November 2010, the manufacturer’s warranty ended in November 2012, as expected.
In mid-December 2012, a few vertical red lines appeared on my screen. At first, I thought it was a problem with the reception of TNT channels. Then what used to happen only occasionally became much more frequent, ending up with a TV that was unwatchable, with vertical lines of all colors across the entire screen (15 days later).
With the warranty expired, I consulted CCM and discovered that it was likely a defective panel and that it would cost an arm and a leg!
But I also read in a discussion that a user had contacted Samsung's customer service after the warranty and was satisfied.
At this point, I decided to contact Samsung's customer service by email with supporting photos, simply requesting coverage for the repair on a commercial basis. They asked me to take my TV to the service center of my store and send them the repair estimate for their decision. I submitted a repair estimate of €1200 for panel replacement (the TV was worth €1400 in 2010), and received a response about fifteen days later; they provided the panel free of charge, while I would have to cover the labor cost (€70).
I picked up my TV with a new panel, set it up, and less than 24 hours later, the lines reappeared :(
I contacted my store’s service center again, telling them with supporting photos that the problem was still there. So back to repair it went.
A few days later, the technician from the service center called me saying that apparently, it was the motherboard that was defective. He told me to resubmit a request to Samsung for the supply of the part. I was skeptical, since they had already provided the panel... But I went ahead anyway. Same procedure, submitted the estimate to customer service, and 15 days later, once again a positive response: Samsung would supply the part to the service center.
I just picked up my TV after 4 months of back and forth at the service center, with Samsung providing a new panel and then a motherboard, and... no more vertical lines; according to the technician, I'm now the owner of a new TV!
So in conclusion, thank you to how it works, because without this informative reading, we would have bought a new TV.
And especially A HUGE KUDOS and a big THANK YOU to Samsung's customer service. Despite all that can be said, I will remain loyal to them.
There you go, sorry for being a bit long, but I hope my experience can help others.
Feel free to ask me any questions; I will gladly answer.

Hello, I also have a problem with vertical bands (some gray, or many colored) on my UE46C6700. I'm pretty sure it's due to a loose connection on the motherboard. In fact, when I press or tap the metal cover at the back, next to the connection plugs, where the motherboard is located (HDMI and such), the problem temporarily disappears. Out of warranty as well, I've taken everything apart, and I feel like it's coming from a connector leading to a board that provides the power supply. When I fiddle with the corrector a little, the problem goes away... Strange, yet after disassembling the motherboard all the solder points seem fine. Unfortunately, my electronics skills end there, and the board costs about 250€ online!
After reading your responses, I'm wondering if I should bother the customer service a bit...
