Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L850 laptop. I have had an issue for 2 weeks now, the screen stays black at startup. At first, I would sometimes get lucky and the display would come back. Now, for the past 3 days, I always have a black screen, but the computer works. Could the screen be out of order?

A big THANK YOU to Protecta for its "tip" which is VERY effective:
HOORAY!!! because all my anxieties are gone after a great despair with this BLACK SCREEN on a Toshiba satellite computer only 1 year and a half old, barely.. GRuiiiiikkkk.
I hope I won’t have an unwelcome return of this """"black screen of doom""" and after two restarts everything is FINE!!!
Thanks again to Protecta for its sharing... from 2013 but still relevant...
Best regards

- 1/turn off the phone,
- 2/remove the battery,
- 3/press the POWER button for 20',
- 4/at the same time press 5 times on the DELETE button,
- 5/plug it into the power outlet and turn it on (without the battery) and it works...
